Bentley Continental Supersports by Anderson Germany

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

With a 621-horsepower twin-turbo W12 engine – the most powerful Bentley has ever made – it wouldn't be easy to top the Continental Supersports. But Anderson Germany is up to the task.

The German tuning house has released a series of modifications for the ultimate Conti that brings total output up to a stratospheric 685 horsepower. But they didn't stop there. They've also completely fitted the interior, mounted the vehicle on 22-inch modular alloy wheels and given it a custom body kit. Only 300 examples of the kit will be made, which also fit the standard Continental GT, GTC and Speed models.

Bentley's Expanded Collection on Display in Paris

Filed under: Apparel, Timepieces / Watches, Luxury Cars & Autos, Writing Instruments, Men's Style

For many customers, a Bentley is as much about the badge on the hood as the engine beneath it. So it should come as little surprise that the company's range of branded merchandise has expanded over the years to become one of the most extensive and the most exquisite in the business.

Among those partnerships on which Bentley has embarked with merchandising partners are timepieces by Breitling, writing instruments by Tibaldi, sunglasses by Estede, skis by Zai, leather goods by Robert Ettinger of London and newly-announced scarves by Heritage Cashmere. The full collection will be on display at the Paris Auto Salon, beginning precious few days from now at the Port de Versailles, but you can see them for yourself in our extensive high-resolution image gallery below.

Bentley Recalls the Flying B Hood Ornament

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

Ever take a look at a hood ornament and wonder what would happen if you got hit by a car with one? Some of the most upscale offerings from the likes of Bentley, Rolls-Royce, Maybach and Jaguar offer them, but they're all designed to fold down or retract entirely in the event of a pedestrian collision. Apparently Bentley's having a little trouble with theirs, though, prompting the US National Highway Transportation Safety Administration to issue a recall on the famous Flying B.

The issue involves rust around the hood ornament preventing it from retracting in such an event. The recall affects less than 600 examples of the Arnage, Azure and Brooklands made between 2007 and 2009. Bentley's produced more than that many in those three years, but the hood ornament is an optional accessory that some buyers choose to do without. But if you've got one with it, you should be getting notice from your local dealership in short order with instructions on how to get yours replaced free of charge.

"The Situation" Shows Off His Bentley

Before his "Dancing With The Stars" debut, "Jersey Shore" star Mike 'The Situation' Sorrentino was on Long Island this weekend showing off his new Bentley. Sorrentino managed to turn the purchasing of a new car into both a party and a money-making opportunity, showing up at the GLO Nightclub to show the 'Unique Situation' Bentley to the public. At the nightclub in Westbury, New York two fully customized Bentleys were presented to Mike and his brother, Marc by Will Castro of Unique Autosports. Both cars are used Bentleys purchased by Mike Sorrentino. According to TMZ, Sorrentino bought a 2008 Bentley coupe for himself and a slightly less expensive 2008 Bentley for his brother for a total of around $100,000.

The Situation's mother was on hand as the Bentleys were presented. The Daily Mail reveals that The Situation does not drive a stick. Why an automatic? "He needs to keep his hand free for the ladies." Sorrentino also used this occasion to give his sister Melissa a new, white Range Rover.

Bentley Does an Antiques Roadshow with Heritage Collection Parts

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

A cross-country road trip with enough spare parts to practically build another car? Sounds like something from Paris-to-Peking, but in this case it's actually the Bentley Heritage Roadshow -- and it's here in the U.S. Bentley's putting 1,000 rare items from its Heritage Parts and Accessories division on display, traveling across 8,000 miles of American countryside to do so.

Most of the Bentleys that have ever been built are still running today, and the marque's customers are fascinated with the range of available vintage, hard-to-find parts. Crewe is playing on this and laying it all out for enthusiasts via the traveling show – from owner's manuals to engine blocks. The 1,000-strong contingent will be running until October, 23, with dates in Parsippany, NJ, Bethesda, MD, High Point, NC, Dallas and Houston, TX, Palm Beach and Miami, FL coming up.

Bentley Continental Flying Spur Black Bison by Wald International

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

The big news in Bentley's Continental family may be the arrival of the new Continental GT, but those impatiently awaiting a commensurate upgrade for the four-door Flying Spur model will have to wait a little longer. To help pass the time, however, Japanese tuner Wald International has released some tasty new upgrades.

The package includes a fresh aero kit comprised of a new front bumper with bigger vents and LED running lights, side skirts, a rear bumper with a faux-diffuser, and little spoilers on the trunk lid and side windows. A quad-pipe exhaust system also features, along with extra carbon fiber trim and new wheels. The result is called the Wald International Bentley Continental Flying Spur Black Bison...you know, just in case the car's name wasn't long enough as it is.

Bentley Reveals the Torque-tanic 2011 Continental GT

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

The 2011 Bentley Continental GT is just the second generation of the segment-busting coupe that rumbled ashore eight years ago. And frankly, this new one looks a lot like that ancient one, but Bentley wants you to know that this is a completely new car. Outside, the bodywork gets all kinds of massaging: pronounced front fender lines that roll over the headlights and into the more-upright grille; a more pronounced grille treatment that asserts itself into the lower intake; LED running lamps surrounding the main headlight elements; the double-horseshoe rear-end treatment inspired by the Mulsanne and taillights that curl into the rear fenders. For a start...

More substantively, the 2011 Conti gets a boost in horsepower from the 6.0-liter, twin-turbo W12, hitting 567 horsepower and 516 pound-feet. The engine swipes a page from the Continental Supersports playbook and goes FlexFuel, accepting any combination of gasoline and E85. To keep you in touch with that power, Bentley's six-speed Quickshift transmission swaps cogs more quickly and does double downshifts. To keep that power in the right place, the rear track is wider, front-to-rear bias of the all-wheel-drive system is now 40/60, and the coefficient of drag has been reduced to 0.33.

As of next year the nominally eco-conscious can get their Continental GT with a 4.0-liter V8. Numbers haven't been released but you can expect it to register high on the horse and torque while getting much better gas mileage than its big brother.

Perhaps the best upgrade of all: the interior accouterments that now boast an eight-inch touchscreen interface, dynamic navigation and Google Maps. Joining that are a sleeker dash, climate-controlled "Cobra" seats sculpted to provide more rear legroom, and leather-lined door pouches with water-bottle holders. It's everything the current Continental GT is. Only more.

New Bentley Continental GT to be Revealed Online Next Week

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

The 2003 Introduction of the Continental GT coupe marked the beginning of the rebirth of Bentley as a stand-alone luxury brand after its separation from Rolls-Royce. Since then Bentley has introduced a range of new models including the GTC convertible, Flying Spur and Mulsanne that have given the brand a distinct character despite sharing some underpinnings with less Audis.

Next week, Bentley will unveil the new next generation Continental GT in a special online event before it shows up at the Paris Motor Show. Judging from the teaser video Bentley has posted at www.ContinentalGT.com the coupe won't be breaking any significant new ground stylistically. Instead it will be an evolution of current design. The most noticeable exterior change is the adoption of LED headlamps at the front for better lighting that uses less energy. The new Continental GT will be revealed at 10am EDT on September 7.

Close Up on Bentley's 80-11 Edition Continental GTC and GTC Speed

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

The Paris Auto Show is where the next Bentley Continental GT will be revealed, but that will concern the coupe only. The convertible GTC will continue a while longer while the new body style is prepared for its own fashion show next year. To keep North American buyers enticed, Bentley's dressed up the GTC and GTC Speed in Midnight paint and various accoutrement and called it the 80-11 Edition.

Shown off at Pebble Beach, in addition to their unique hue they both get shiny Union Jack badges on their front fenders, Dark Metallic soft tops and heavy-as-billet Mulliner gas tank caps. When it comes to telling the apart, the GTC gets 20-inch, 14-spoke wheels with black centers while the GTC Speed gets the lighter-weight Continental Supersports wheel in a dark tint, under which reside red brake calipers. Inside, they both get turned aluminum dashes and Beluga leather but the GTC gets contrasting white stitching, the GTC Speed wears Pillar Box Red stitching.

The final thing they have in common: FlexFuel engines capable of running on E85. Meaning the only thing you'll lose with these two is carbon emissions. They'll be arriving in dealer showrooms later this year.

Bentley Announces Special Edition Continental GTC 80-11

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

If you were disappointed to learn that the latest limited edition Bentley Continentals were limited exclusively to the Middle East, we've got good news for you. The British prestige marque has announced another pair of specials, these destined exclusively to the North American market.

The 80-11 edition can be ordered on either the Continental GTC or GTC Speed, and upgrade on the standard models with special 20-inch wheels, brake calipers and badging, plus the availability of an exclusive Midnight paint shade. The name is derived from the limited run of 80 models available, and the 2011 model year in which they'll be built.

Mike Tyson's Bentley Continental T for sale on JamesList

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

With a 6.75-liter turbocharged V8 engine producing 650 lb-ft of torque, the Bentley Continental T packed quite a punch. A Mike Tyson-size punch. Which is no mere coincidence, because the Champ himself once owned this particular example.

This Continental T was one of only 322 made, and came equipped with two-tone red and black Connolly leather interior, a polished aluminum dashboard with a red starter button and a McIntosh sound system. Tyson bought it from Rolls-Royce of New York in 1997, and since then it has accumulated 40,000 kilometers and has undergone an overhaul at the hands of England's Phantom Motor Cars. It's now up for sale in Cologne, Germany. The price? $170,000, which is a fair bit less than the even rarer Continental SC which Tyson put on the market a couple of years ago.

Bentley Continental Flying Spur Arabia

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

Taking an evident lead from its arch-rival (and former corporate cousin) Rolls-Royce, Bentley has announced a special edition exclusive to the Middle East.

Based on either the Continental Flying Spur or Flying Spur Speed, the Arabia edition features special badging and wheels, but that's about the extent of it. Only 50 examples will be produced, available exclusively through Bentley's nine dealers in the region that accounts for 10% of its sales annually.

Bentley Continental GT SnakeSkin by Dartz

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

We know what you've been thinking: I love my Bentley so much I want to cover it in snakeskin, but not the flashy kind I saw on those cowboy boots. (Can we call it, or can we call it?) Fortunately Russian tuner firm Dartz has just the solution for you.

If the company name sounds familiar, it could be because they're the ones responsible for the Prombron luxury sport-utility vehicle. But while the whale-foreskin interior on the Prombron was real, the snakeskin on this Bentley Continental GT isn't. Instead, it's a texture applied to a white vinyl wrap. The interior and wheels have been treated to match, while the rest has been blacked out for a high-contrast, shine-free look.
