Victoria and David Beckham's Pricey Art Collection

You might not think of Victoria and David Beckham as movers and shakers in the art world but the Mirror UK reveals that the fashionable, globe-trotting pair have built up a modern art collection worth over $40 million. The couple have based their collection around the idea of love and it features work from Damien Hirst, Tracey Emin, Banksy and others. Some of the art is openly sentimental but other pieces like Hirst's bull's heart stabbed with scalpels, speak to the trials and tribulations of modern romance. Much of the art was purchased through London's White Cube gallery and some of it was given as gifts for special occasions. With homes in London, Milan and Los Angeles, the Beckhams have plenty of wall and floor space to display their treasures but the collection could go on display at some point.

Did Victoria Beckham Spend $50,000 On A Treehouse?

Each year we chronicle the Neiman Marcus Fantasy Gifts but we rarely get to hear about who purchases them. This year though, free-spending Victoria Beckham is said to have bought one of them. It is being reported that Posh Spice spent $50,000 on the Treetent at the Neiman Marcus in Beverly Hills. The Treetent was created by Dutch sculptor and designer Dré Wapenaar and has a a nine-foot-diameter hardwood floor and round mattress. It sleeps two adults but she is said to have bought this as a fabulous fort for her three children. it isn't the first time that the Beckhams have bought their children a luxurious treehouse, a couple of years ago they spent around $187,000 for a much-contested playhouse at their English estate.

Are The Beckhams Selling Their Haunted House?

I love a good ghost story. It's even better when it involves our favorite paragons of excess, the Beckhams. Apparently Posh and Becks are ditching their French country estate because it is haunted. The Daily Mail reports that the Beckhams bought Domaine Saint-Vincent for£1.5 million for the property in 2003 but have never spent a night in the home. Rumor has it that the ghost of Leslie Duck, a diplomat who took his own life in 2001, haunts the home. His ghost has been seen rambling around the area. The Beckhams didn't know about the ghost before they bought the house. The estate includes two separate buildings: a manor house with four bedrooms and a four-bedroom barn conversion. No word yet on what the asking price is.

Will Posh Get Keira's Necklace For Her Birthday?

Another year older already? It's time yet again for the birthday of Posh Spice, otherwise known as Victoria Beckham. The Beckhams are infamous for their lavish birthday fetes and this year is no different. Last year they partied in Paris, this year Victoria is having a Japanese-themed party at the Beckham manse in Madrid. The walls will be covered in Japanese silk and chefs from Nobu will prepare the food which includes lobster tails served in martini glasses and exotic fruits and sorbets. But the big news is Victoria's gift. Rumor has it she will be given a copy of the necklace that Keira Knightly wore to the Oscars this year. The massive vintage collar which drips with diamonds, sapphires, rubies and emeralds has been said to cost around $12 million. After the big day, the couple will enjoy a vacation in the Italian lakes area. What a way to turn 32.

Victoria Beckham Gets A Ruby Necklace For The Holidays

We mentioned a while back that David Beckham was getting a Rolls Royce Phantom for Christmas. What did he get Mrs. Becks? Female First says that David Beckham bought her a £1.2 million ruby and diamond necklace for Christmas. Victoria was reportedly thrilled with the Boucheron pendant which features large rubies and diamonds hanging on a ruby chain. Sounds like it weighs as much as the lady who will be wearing it.
