Statement Necklaces by Elva Fields

Designer Elva Wheat Maynard creates one of kind necklaces and earrings for her Elva Fields Jewelry line that are visually captivating. While I love all of her pieces, my heart lies in her gorgeous statement necklaces. They are stunning! I've been a long time fan of Elva's work and if I could, I would buy as many of her necklaces as possible and become an avid collector. Unfortunately, before I get the opportunity to purchase, the ones I like are already sold out! Luckily, her Savor Sunrise Necklace ($118), shown above, is still available for purchase and on sale. Upon first glance, the Savor Sunrise seems fitting for the Summer, but it's coral tones and deep yellow hue would beautifully compliment beiges and browns for the Fall.

Elva Fields offers three different collections - Elva (one of a kind), June (limited editions) and Deb (vintage). As you can see, her necklaces are large, bold, and chunky pieces that exude a feminine and sophisticated feel. Each one has such character that I find myself creating outfits based on the necklace itself. I'm sure many people would say starting with you accessories to create a look is crazy, but I say create your look from what has inspired you. Have fun with it. Being an accessories junkie myself, a large majority of my outfits are based on my handbags, jewelry and shoes. Take a look below for a collection of colorful pieces to inspire your next outfit.

Gianmarco Lorenzi Flower Sandals
Looking more like a piece of art than a shoe you could wear, The Satin Flower Platform Sandals by Gianmarco Lorenzi ($978) are beautiful. The little Beyonce/Mariah Carey in me is just dying to wear these somewhere – anywhere! With an electric blue as the backdrop, the large satin and beaded flower takes center stage and immediately grabs your attention. As though the oversized flower wasn't bold enough, the blue-green cut out mega platform gives more height than you have ever dreamed of.

Celebrate Earth Day with a BeadforLife Necklace

BeadforLife necklace, $348Jewelry for a cause doesn't always have to be clunky and obvious. Naturally, it's good to let people know you're supporting a cause, but if you're too showy about it, you just look silly. This year, celebrate Earth Day both subtly and elegantly with a BeadforLife necklace by Amanda Pearl.

BeadforLife is an organization which employs Ugandan women, allowing them to earn money by turning colorful recycled paper into beads. The organization provides regular income to hundreds of women, including 150 who graduated from their training program for self-sufficiency.

We asked hip young Seattle designer Amanda Pearl Brotman, whose Clutches for a Cause we featured last year, how she got involved with BeadforLife:

"I learned about the BeadforLife beads and organization through my dad, who had attended an event in Seattle surrounding BeadforLife jewelry and forwarded me information on the organization. After visiting their website, I knew immediately that I wanted to become involved. I love the beads and knew exactly how I would like to use them in my Spring collection and immediately ordered half a dozen bags to work with. I'm really excited to have the opportunity to work with BeadforLife. It's a great cause, the beads are beautiful and I look forward to finding new ways to work them into the collection season after season!"

The attractive, colorful and positive energy-infused necklaces are available from Amanda Pearl and select retailers for $348.00.

Santi Beaded Disco Bag, Handbag of the Day

This little cutie of a bag is less expensive than most of the ones we feature here on Luxist but I just couldn't resist covering it because it's so darling and it just brings fun vibes to mind with the name "Beaded Disco Bag." It's hot pink with silver-gray handbeading all-over and ruching along the frame top. A kiss lock closure adds a touch of elegant charm and an extra long chain shoulder strap adds some versatility. And if this bright pink isn't to your taste there's also a tamer black version and beige version. $165

Stella McCartney Beaded Fold-Over Clutch, Handbag of the Day

This Beaded Fold-Over Clutch bag by Stella McCartney has a simple and classic shape mixed with fun details like an intricate mosaic-like beaded design and a colorful beaded tassel hanging off one end. Made with glass beads and satinised brass hardware, this bag only comes in the one color scheme but can still go with almost anything. It's also very versatile as far as easily dressing up for an evening party or dressing down for a casual afternoon -- not sure how much daily wear and tear it can take though, without risk of losing some beads. $1495

J. Crew Beaded Bathing Suit

From the J.Crew Collection, the preppy retailer's more expensive line of clothing, here's a beautiful and apparently swimmable suit. Shells and beads decorate the top of the suit, while there's boning along the sides. And sure, brown isn't always the most flattering color for a pale beach newbie,  but this suit probably looks really pretty once you have a tan. Price: $100.
