Lear 204, The Electric Boat

There's been plenty of talk about electric cars but what about electric boats. The adorable little Lear 204 is a new electric boat that is a collaboration between boat builder Terry Baylor and his wife Shanda Lear, daughter of Learjet inventor Bill Lear. The little 20.4 foot Lear cruises at around six miles per hour and doesn't create a bow wave. it is powered by an electric motor that runs over 10 hours on a single charge. The batteries can be recharged at the dock from any 110 volt 30 amp outlet. The Lear 204 has a retractable hardtop that is also powered by four electric motors. It has a forward cabin with a head, a small sink and food prep counter and a teak cocktail table with folding wings that holds an insulated cooler. It sells for $65,000.
