LuxShare Auto Club To Launch in Indiana

Filed under: Services, Luxury Cars & Autos

Car clubs are everywhere lately. The latest place? Evansville, Indiana. The LuxShare Auto Club is a new club which will use a points system, selling shares which will cost  $7,250 to $9,000 per year. The club is located at the Buxton Motorsports Plaza. Their first purchase was the new Porsche Cayman S and they have their eye on adding a Ferrari, a Rolls Royce and a Bentley to the stable. There will even be a pickup truck for weekend chores. They are looking to have only around 50 members with one vehicle for every three or four people.

LSD Lambo Style Car Doors

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

Inside Line has pics of the new Porsche Cayman S tricked out with a pair of LSD Doors. LSD Doors makes "Lambo look" swing-up doors for a variety of European, Japanese and American cars including some cars that in my opinion should never have swing-up doors including the VW Golf. For around  $3,000, LSD can make your Porsche or, if you must, your Honda Civic, look Lambo-esque. The new doors are mounted at the original hinge points with no welding or repainting. There are around 20 dealers scattered across the U.S.

The One-Of-A-Kind Ferrari 575GTZ

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

The man in this picture should look far happier. He is Ferrari collector Yoshiyuki Hayashi and he is standing next to his own one-of-a-kind Ferrari 575GTZ. The car was build by Zagato and is based on the Ferrari 575 Maranello and inspired by the first Ferrari special made by the Ferrari  coachbuilder way back in the Fifties. The car gets its official debut at the  Villa d'Este concours d'elegance in Italy later this month. It looks a bit faux vintage ala the Ford Thunderbird but is still a pretty hot car.

Saleen/Parnelli Jones Limited Edition Mustang

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

$50,000 for a Mustang? When Saleen's involved things get fancy and pricey. The Saleen/Parnelli Jones Limited Edition Mustang has a classic muscle car look that is reminiscent of the Grabber Orange Boss 302 Mustang that Parnelli Jones drove in 1970. Inside it's got the Saleen  302 cid V8 engine. Other details include 302 valve covers, a black striped “shaker” hood, a 1970 replica rear wing and rear window quarter panels. It's only available in the Grabber Orange shown here and it even comes with removable decals to make it look just like Parnelli's 1970 Mustang. They haven't announced how many units will be made but it will cost in the the mid-to-high $50,000 range. Autoblog has the rest of the pictures and more details.

The drop-top version of the popular Continental GT coupe, the new car can hit speed of up to 195 mph and has a 12 cylinder engine. Autoblog has a bunch more press pictures of the car.

Where Are Most Rolls- Royces Sold?

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

Which places in the world sell the most Rolls-Royces? The 2005 sales figures have been released and Dubai is now fourth in Rolls sales behind Beverly Hills, London and Tokyo. It was a good year for Rolls overall, selling 796 cars, less than the 1,000 we learned was their goal last August but still an increase over 2004 and a 15 year high for Rolls-Royce. Paris Hilton seems to be a good indicator of the success of a luxury car. First she had a Bentley in 2004 and Bentley had a boom year, last year she was seen in the Bentley but also in a Rolls-Royce Phantom. I am wondering if her new Mercedes McLaren means that next year we will be hearing about record sales of the pricey car.

Koenigsegg CCX Supercar Will Go On Sale in Las Vegas

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

Koenigsegg makes amazingly pricey and fast cars. Last year their CCR became the fastest production car in the world hitting a top speed of 241 mph only to be beaten by the Bugatti Veyron in October. But Koenigsegg isn't out to take back the crown yet. Their new CCX will be, like the CCR, the second fastest car in the world and this supercar will be available in the US. Gizmag reports that the CCX will be sold at Caesar's Palace in Las Vegas. The car will go on sale at Exotic Cars in the Forum Shops. The cars cost $650,000 to start.
