World's Most Extravagant Party in Dubai Will be Visible from Space

Later this month, billionaire tycoon Sol Kerzner will launch his lavish new resort in Dubai with a $25 million party featuring a fireworks display so massive it will be visible from space. The event, for the grand opening of the $1.5 billion Atlantis, The Palm, will have 2,000 guests and last four days capped by a performance by Kylie Minogue (her first in the Middle East), and is being billed as the world's most extravagant party, the London Telegraph reports.

The 1,500 room resort, located on the world's largest manmade island, the Palm Jumeirah, covers several square miles, features 16 restaurants including a branch of Nobu, and is partially bankrolled by the Dubai Royal Family. The fireworks display is being put on by the same pyrotechnics experts who produce the Olympics opening ceremony; however the Atlantis display will be ten times larger than the one in Beijing, making it visible from space.

North Beach Plantation

If you like the look of the Atlantis Resort in the Bahamas then you will love the North Beach Plantation project in North Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. It has two twin towers connected by two arches with  views of the Atlantic. The upper arch on the 14th floor will have a two-story restaurant/bar overlooking the ocean. There will also be a waterpark that includes fountains and pools. The towers will have one-, two-, three-, four- and five-bedroom villas that have features like nine foot ceilings, granite kitchen and bath countertops, walk-in closets and oceanfront balconies. Amenities include oversized high-speed elevators, owner storage closets and wireless internet. Prices start at $519,900.

The Bridge Suite at the Atlantis

Though it was mysteriously absent from the Travel Channel's list of the most expensive hotel suites, the Atlantis Bridge Suite. Perhaps they did not consider the possibility that a hotel would charge an astounding $25,000 per night for a suite. The Atlantis is a premier destination in the Bahamas, known for its spectacular architecture and huge casino. The suite has 10 rooms, including a 1,250-square-foot living room with grand piano and twin entertainment centers, a dining room with a 22-karat gold chandelier and bedrooms with wardrobes so large "you could drive a car into them." The suite has a full kitchen and a permanent staff of seven, who access the rooms via a private entrance. There are 12-foot high ceilings throughout with full length windows and the suite's location is on the bridge that spans across the 23rd floor of the resort's two towers gives it the most spectacular views money can buy. Celebrity guests have included Michael Jackson, Oprah, Celine Dion and Bill Gates, but if you spend enough at the casino, the staff might just be able to fit you in for a night.

Atlantis Reef Project

Not quite sure what to file this under, but I find it terribly interesting nonetheless. If you are looking for that special place that you would like to spend the rest of eternity, why not try the Atlantis Reef Project. Built off the coast of Key Biscayne, Florida, this development is designed as an underwater sanctuary and coral garden in the image of the lost civilization of Atlantis. Eventually, the project will be the largest man-made reef in the world and be a great place to dive and experience the underwater world. Perhaps most interesting is the fact that you can chose to have your cremated remains deposited in an underwater mausoleum. I'm not sure if the family would come to an underwater wake...Hmmm.

Nobu Restaurant at Atlantis

It seems that sushi chef Nobu Matsuhisa won't rest until there is a Nobu in every major hotspot. The latest Nobu is at Atlantis, Paradise Island in the Bahamas. The first Caribbean Nobu has a bit of a Bahamian flavor with Conch Cevice, Lobster Ceviche and Nobu Style Cracked Conch joining Nobu's typical Japanese fare. The design of the restaurant includes an open sushi bar and a  sake cellar. The sake cellar is a twelve-person dining area located inside a domed tower lined with sake bottles and windows providing marina views.
