Praised as a "shocking demonstration of just how much improvement can be brought to an already near-perfect sports car," the Ferrari 458 Italia has been selected by the Robb Report editors and a panel of guest judges as the luxury lifestyle authority's 2011 Car of the Year.

Revealed in Robb Report's March issue, which hits newsstands on February 22, the award is presented to an automobile, formally introduced in the previous year, whose technical designs, styling, and performance position it as the world's preeminent sports or luxury vehicle.

Aston Martin V12 Vantage is Coming to America

A couple of years ago, Aston Martin had a stroke of genius. They took their smallest car and shoe-horned in their biggest engine. The result was the V12 Vantage, with a 6-liter twelve producing 510 horsepower and driving it to 60 in 4.2 seconds en route to a 190 mph top speed.

Unfortunately, while the less powerful V8 Vantage remains a cornerstone of Aston's range in North America, the V12 Vantage remained an overseas product exclusively. Now the British sportscar-maker has announced that the V12 version is coming to American shores after all. A few minor revisions will be required to meet U.S. regulations, but the core formula of small car, big engine will remain. And we'll be thankful for it.

Aston Martin's New Limited-Production V12 Vantage

There are some things we'll never get tired of. Like new top-of-the-line supercars from Aston Martin. The British sportscar manufacturer never seems tired, either, of one-upping itself, and to that end is descending on the lakeside Swiss city of Geneva in two weeks with the production version of the V12 Vantage.

Originally previewed at the same show two years ago, the V12 Vantage takes the company's "entry-level" V8 Vantage model and, as you might have guessed, drops in a V12 engine in its place. Along with the power upgrade, Aston has taken out a lot of excess weight, helping the 510-horsepower sportscar run from 0-60 in just a tick over four seconds, en route to a 190 mph top speed. Only 1000 examples of the V12 Vantage will be made, but unfortunately none will be making it over to American shores, so the closest you may get for the time being to seeing one is in the gallery below, so check it out.
