HUE Chocolate Glass Cabinet Hardware

Although there are some beautiful choices when it comes to cabinet hardware, generally the the pulls on your doors and drawers don't attract much attention. These pulls from Spectra Decor are an exception. Handmade by artisans, the dimensional look is achieved by fusing together opaque and transparent layers of colored glass, which all rests beautifully on a satin pewter base. The HUE line of cabinet hardware is available in a variety of color combinations to match most any decor, but the chocolate brown and turquoise is my personal favorite. The quickest way to achieve a cabinet makeover is to install new hardware - and who wouldn't want to look at these each day? $38 to $78 each.

Mango Wood Turned Stool

The Mango Wood Turned Stool can serve many purposes, working equally well as a table, stool, or simply as an artistic element. Hand-turned on a lathe by artisans in Thailand, the unique beauty and character of the mango wood is left to show naturally by leaving the wood untreated, which means no two pieces are alike. I love it and think it's beautiful, although due its mix of natural energy and modern appeal working it into a room's decor would take a skilled vision I think. Its hand-crafted nature means measurements may vary slightly, but are generally 13"W x 18"H and it weighs about 25lbs. $368 from Gaiam.

Touch Vodka

Touch Vodka is an ultra-premium artisan vodka from Florida that is quite unique. Not only is it made from all natural and all local ingredients in small batches, but at the root of the vodka is natural Florida wildflower honey. The producer does not believe in filtering his vodka, as he believes that if the distillation process is done properly, there should be no impurities that need to be removed. It is described as having "hints of vanilla, chocolate, and pine nuts with a smooth dry finish" - not to mention being a taste of Florida. The spirit is in very limited release and is only available at a handful of places in Florida. The bottles are in almost as high demand as the vodka, since each bottle has paper roses hand-glued to the outside. It sells for about $40 per 750mL bottle.

It is worth noting that the distillery is so small that they can actually custom-make flavors (using local, Florida fruits and citrus) for individual tastes.
