Passchal Hobo, Handbag of the Day
The Passchal Hobo is a luxurious option for the eco-conscious.Passchal is an unusually inventive design house; they make all their handbags from recycled tractor inner tubes. Before you turn up your nose, be sure and have a look at their collection, which has been seen on In Treatment's Blair Underwood, Heroes' James Kyson Lee, and 90210's AnnaLynne McCord (the Passchal Hobo, right).
This classic, 15" x 12" x 4" hobo weighs just 1.75 pounds and features Italian nickel hardware, a solid canvas lining with inside zipper pockets, a magnetic closure, a distressed leather strap and details, and, naturally, tractor inner tubes as the main body of the purse.
The designers are Ken Kobrick, an ex-welder, and inventor Angela Greene.
"In keeping with their eco-friendly beliefs, all leathers used are by-products, vegetable dyed, and chrome free, and all bags are handcrafted using the highest quality hardware and materials available. The inner tubes are collected in VA, OH and GA, and undergo a rigorous but environmentally friendly, multi-day cleaning process. To date, Passchal has recycled approximately 26 tons of inner tubes!"
