I've seen some amazing sailing yachts offered for sale recently. The latest is one that we've been following since her launch in 2005, the Alfa Romeo yacht. The 98-foot yacht is one of the fastest super maxi yachts in the world. The lightning fast beauty has snapped up a variety of prizes in the last few years including most recently passing the line first in the Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup. The yacht makes generous use of carbon fiber both on the inside and out. Because she has been racing for the past couple of years she has been kept in peak shape and comes with two complete containers of spares and sails. The yacht is listed at 3.9 million euros.

Watching the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race via Google Earth

We've written before about yachtspotting using Google Earth. Now you can also watch a yacht race using the program. This year, according to Gizmag, the entire world can watch the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, which starts today, via the Internet. The race's web site has a yacht tracker but the race can also be watched via Google Earth with yacht positions and standings updated every ten minutes. It should be an interesting race with the Alfa Romeo and Wild Oats XI both expected to do well and this may be a record-setting year.
