The holidays often mark the return of old favorites, good friends, favorite dishes and more. This year we are giving away another old favorite, a design favorite, the Cronotime desk clock from Alessi, makers of design-centered home goods. The clock is a nice reminder of the days before phone and computer clocks became the standard method of telling time. Sometimes it's pleasing to look at something designed just for one purpose, delivering the time in a clear and rather cheerful manner. Today we are giving away one Cronotime desk clock in ABS, orange, which generally sells for $78. The Alessi Alberto's Vineyard Glass, One Glass To Taste Them All

The Alessi Alberto's Vineyard tasting glass does away with the need to have a different glasses for different wines. The glass's asymmetrical shape serves an important purpose. The side that bends out is meant for tasting white wine, exposing it to the air and opening up the fragrance. The side that curves inward is for red wine, trapping and concentrating the aromas. Does it work? The folks at Unica Home say they noticed a difference but then again they're the ones selling the glasses for $97 a pair.

Alessi Pito Water Kettle

Designed back in 1992 by Frank Gehry, Alessi's Pito Water Kettle must be one of the most beautiful, functional kettles on the market. It is made out of mirror polished steel and has an organic, almost fluid, curve to it. Both the handle and whistle/spout are made of carved mahogany wood. It measures just 7.25-in. across and stands 7.25-in high. Price: $400.

Hani Rashid Picture Frame

It seems as the more and more photos are going digital, and s a result of this, digital photo frames are clearly the way of the future when it comes to convenient home photo displays. That being said, it is hard to beat the quality of a really good nondigital photo and there are always friends and family members who will appreciate the extra care that when into producing them - not to mention the fact that there are many nondigital frames that are just too gorgeous to pass up. Designed for Alessi, Hani Rashid's modern picture frame is an elegant way to display these photos. It is made of stainless steel and appears to have been split apart at the base to support the rest of the frame. Price: €63.90 ($83.76).

Alessi Big Love Ice Set

The Big Love Ice Cream Bowl is definitely a fun way to have a sundae, made better by the heart-shaped spoon that accompanies it. The bowl, which is available in three colors, has an acrylic outer bowl/stand that puts your dessert at a convenient height and gives it a distinctive look. A large stainless steel interior bowl helps to keep your ice cream cold as you eat, and the heart-shaped stainless steel spoon is included just for fun. Both pieces were designed by Miriam Mirri for Alessi. Price, as a set: $43.

Chiringuito Cocktail Shaker

Make your cocktails shaken with a twist - a twisted shaker, anyway. The Chiringuito Cocktail Shaker was designed for Alessi by Ron Arad. It is made of 18/10 stainless steel and is intentionally twisted to "mimic the motion of the liquid inside." Whether this actually helps your drink to blend better remains to be seen, but it certainly looks good while its in use. Price: $140.

Hani Rashid Office Supplies

The desk sets by Hani Rashid for Alessi just might me one of the sexiest sets of office supplies I have ever seen. While his brother Karim Rashid prefers soft bloopy shapes, Hani's deisgns here are all edges. The items, which are priced from $28 to $108 include a gleaming stainless steel desk organizer and stackable document holders of thermoplastic resin.

La Cucina Alessi

We love the trend for more modern, high-tech kitchens as much as we love Alessi designs, so when the two are combined - let's just say that these are some amazing kitchens. Introduced at the Salone Internazionale del Mobile in Milano in April 2006 , La Cucina Alessi is a collection of four "poetic kitchens," that are perfectly designed to showcase the food that is made in them. The first design is Trasparente (above), a wall-mounted minimalist kitchen.

Starck Alessi Salif Citrus Juicer

The innovative designer Philippe Starck has designed this truly unique citrus juicer. It looks vaguely insect-like, as though it might simply walk off the counter if left unattended, but it is simple and elegant at the same time. The juicer does not seem to have gotten the most positive feedback at Amazon.com, where users found the design a bit difficult to work with. Using a long, tall pitcher to catch the fresh juice as it drips down the cast-aluminum, pointed juicer should help things along considerably. Price: $79.

Alessi Tigrito Cat Dish

So damn cute. The Tigrito is the companion piece to Alessi's Lupita dog bowl. The Tigrito cat dish has stainless steel bowls and comes in three colors including the light blue shown here. It sells for $70 and is part of Alessi's playful animal line that also includes the Parrot corkscrew ($42).
