YachtPlus

Lord Norman Foster's YachtPlus to Launch in Sept.

The avant-garde super-yacht designed by famed British architect Lord Norman Foster for UK fractional ownership firm YachtPlus is nearing completion and should be available next month. My colleague Deidre Woollard first reported on the luxurious project last year. The high-tech 132-ft. Foster-designed "Signature Series" craft is the first in YachtPlus' fleet, each of which will have eight owners at a share price of about $2 million each, bringing the total cost to about $16 million. Construction on the flagship steel-jacketed vessel is in its final phase at the state-of-the-art Rodriquez Cantieri Navali (RCN) shipyard in Italy. Aside from it's eye-popping design, the company claims Foster's yacht offers more deck space, interior comfort and glass surfaces than any equivalent craft of her size.

YachtPlus To Offer Unique Fractional Yachts

YachtPlus, a London-based fractional luxury yacht service is setting themselves apart from the rest of the fractional yacht market by offering one of the most unique looking luxury yachts I have ever seen. The YachtPlus Signature Series boats are 131 foot powerboats being created by Foster and Partners. YachtPlus will offer the first two yachts as the start of their fractional-owned fleet. They are planning to have eight owners per yacht. There is an agreement that includes an option for eight more of these yachts to be made.

The modern-looking yachts are to be made in aluminum alloy with a composite superstructure and are being built at RCN's luxury yacht division near La Spezia in Italy. The yachts have four decks and with four guest cabins and a full beam owner's cabin. There is a submersible beach deck and the large glassed-in saloon area offers 180-degree views.

Helium Report did an email interview with the CEO of YachtPlus
and found that that a one-eighth share (12.5% of the whole) is priced at 1.5 million euros, with each yacht selling for a total of 12 million euros. The first yacht should be ready in 2008.
