Valentine's Day in the Berkshires
If the weather is on your side this Valentine's
Day, make the 2 hour drive into the heart of the Berkshires in Massachusetts. There you will find the quaint village of
Lennox filled with antique stores and cute shops. Of course you didn't make this trip to just to shop. No, there is a
lovely hotel that will set you up for the night. Wheatleigh is a country house
with a post modern twist. Built in 1893 as a wedding present, Wheatleigh is an Italianate masterpiece that provides a
perfect setting for a romantic getaway. A grand estate complete with Tiffany windows features a juxtaposition of styles
with classical detailing and delightfully urbane furniture. Rooms are done in soothing tones and some have fireplaces.
Service is overseen by a former manager of the Ritz in Paris, so you can be
assured that the staff will grant your every wish. Just think of the snow covered hills and you and your sweetheart
dining on the Valentine's Day "His and Hers" menu of Seared Diver Scallop and Foie Gras. Now, that's my type
of romance!
