The World's 10 Most Expensive Hotel Suites

The Wealth Bulletin has compiled a new list of the World's Top Ten Most Expensive Hotel Rooms, and the first and second both cost over $30,000 per night. And despite glum economic prospects, demand for these costly suites is as strong as ever, with waiting lists stretching from now until the end of December. Also worth noting is the appearance of Dubai (the Burj Al Arab's Royal Suite, above) and Moscow hotels on the list, which would have been unheard of just a couple years ago. Here are the Top 10:

1. Ty Warner Penthouse, Four Seasons, New York; $34,000 per night
2. Royal Penthouse Suite, President Wilson Hotel, Geneva; $33,000 per night
3. The Presidential Suite, Hotel Cala di Volpe, Costa Smeralda, Italy; $21,000 per night
4. Royal Suite, Burj Al Arab, Dubai; $18,000 per night
5. Royal Armleder Suite, Le Richemond, Geneva; $17,500 per night
6. The Ritz-Carlton Suite, The Ritz-Carlton, Moscow; $16,500 per night
7. The Royal Suite, Four Seasons George V, Paris; $16,000 per night
8. The Imperial Suite, Park Hyatt-Vendôme, Paris; $15,500 per night
9. Brook Penthouse, Claridges, London; $10,000 per night
10. Penthouse Suite, Hotel Martinez, Cannes; $9,300 per night

Hotel President Wilson Bags 'Most Expensive' Title

Travel is always a great excuse to blow some cash for a fabulous experience and these elite suites help you do just that. Ever wondered how much the most expensive hotel room in the world would cost you? $52,000...a night! (Does that qualify for the Guinness Book?) The gold-medalist in this category (yes, I have been watching too much of the Olympics) is the Royal Penthouse Suite at the Hotel President Wilson in Geneva, Switzerland. Curious as to the winner of "budget-breaker" in the U.S. -- it's none other than the Ty Warner Penthouse at the Four Seasons New York. I'm not sure exactly what that big price tag includes but I would hope that means free champagne and strawberries, a cozy robe to take home and plenty of room service.

The Most Expensive Hotel Suite In The U.S.

Looking to stay somewhere nice? Looking to stay somewhere really nice -- like, the nicest? Well of course "nice" is an extremely subjective term, but judging by price isn't. So if you're interested in staying in the most expensive hotel suite in the United States I'm sure you'll have an awesome and luxurious time, but you'd better be prepared to shell out (deep breath) thirty thousand dollars per night for the experience.

Now there are other hotel rooms that are valued at comparable rates (think high roller suites in Las Vegas), but what makes the price tag for the Four Seasons New York Ty Warner Penthouse stand out is that it's not available at a discounted rate or as part of an upgrade package -- it's $30,000 per night, period.

Of course the lavish design, location, and perks included with a nightly rate that could buy a small house in some neighborhoods is a long one. To get an idea, though, check out these great photos.
