Trump Launches Trump Tea

Just when I think Donald Trump has run out of things to lend his name to something new comes along. The Trump Organization and Talbott Teas have launched Trump Tea, a premium line of teas bearing the Trump logo. There are four whole leaf tea blends created by Talbott Teas' master blender Shane Talbott and named for some of Trump's favorite places.

The Park Avenue blend combines orange and raspberry teas with white tea leaves to create a naturally sweet tea with a silky texture that is rich in antioxidants. The Union Square blend is whole-leaf estate Assam black tea with hints of bourbon vanilla bean and cocoa. The Mar-A-Lago blend is Sencha green tea and the Westchester blend is rosehips, hibiscus, elderberry and antioxidant-rich organic blueberries.

Each blend is packaged in a keepsake tin with pyramid sachets of all natural whole leaf tea and organic ingredients. The Trump Tea collection will be available at select retailers beginning Fall 2010. The tea costs $12.95 per tin.

Most Romantic Skyscraper Restaurants - Win their Hearts with These

Skyscraper restaurants are widely favored for a romantic evening like Valentine's Day, special anniversaries or on a honeymoon. Or, a skyscraper restaurant is a great way to get your first full view of the sights in a once-in-a-lifetime trip to any of these famous cities, even with a whole family.

When it comes to prices we're not talking Denny's. You're going to pay for the view, but these skyscraper restaurants are worth it. Most serve lunch and dinner and some serve breakfast or Sunday brunch. This price scale is based on dinner entrees (main courses):
$ = Reasonable for the View, entrees at $22-$40 per person.
$$ = Expensive, entrees at $30-55 per person.
$$$ = Very Expensive, entrees $55 and up per person.

Carl Icahn Joins Trump Casino Takeover Plan

I thought the story of banker Andy Beal's battle against Donald Trump for control of the Trump Atlantic City casinos was pretty exciting before but it just got a hell of a lot more interesting. Billionaire investor Carl Icahn, who I most recently mentioned for his interest in the stalled Fontainebleau project, has stepped into the action. The NY Post reports that he made a deal to buy a majority of the outstanding first-lien bank debt from Beal, who holds $486 million in first-mortgage liens on the casinos. Icahn has thrown his lot in with Beal to try and revive the Trump casino empire which has filed for bankruptcy several times. This puts Icahn and Beal in direct opposition to Trump and his daughter Ivanka who have thrown their support behind a group of noteholders led by Marc Lasry, who hold roughly $1.25 billion in unsecured debt.

The Post article questions whether this is a personal batlle, after all, Trump and Beal were playing nicely together until November when Trump swung his approval over to Lasry's camp in return for a stake in their version of the restructured company. If, as the article, says Beal was feeling vulnerable to criticism that he lacked casino experience then he's got a very experienced ally in Icahn who has a history of buying bankrupt casinos (including the Stratosphere in Las Vegas) and selling them for big profits. For Trump, there's both pride and money at stake, and neither Icahn or Trump is accustomed to losing so this could be a business battle royale.

Trump Continues To Fight Angry Scots

Michael Forbes will not go quietly. Forbes is just one of the angry homeowners on the fringes of the Menie Estate in Aberdeenshire, Scotland, the area soon to be the home of Donald Trump's billion-dollar golf resort. Four homeowners are facing the prospect of compulsory purchase orders to buy their houses because their land is to be part of the Trump development. The homeowners plan to challenge the decision by a local committee to grant the Trump Organization permission for the land in Scottish court.

The Scotsman says that says Donald Trump, Junior and George Sorial paid a visit to Michael Forbes' home this week and were chased away. Forbes, who has been fighting against the Trump development for two years, told the Scotsman that he thinks it is a revenge situation now and that Trump wants everyone who was against him out of the area, a scenario that seems plausible since Trump isn't exactly known for having a warm and fuzzy business style.

Donald Finally Mixes Business With Pleasure In The Trump Model Agency

Donald Trump needs no introduction, nor does his penchant for models. Ironically enough, he has now started his own model agency (Trump Model Management). While it isn't know how much of the daily operation of the business he will oversee, I can easily see him sitting in on some of the interviews and model submissions. The agency will add the Trump luxe touch to the hiring out of high-achievement models. The high distinction ladies have the regular array of "miss this, and miss that" titles ensuring that your $2,000 - $20,000 a day fee is (arguably) well spent. Tips are of course extra.

What you do with the models is then up to you I am sure. The Trump Model Agency has enlisted a star list of model managers to help book gigs for the growing list of international faces on the company ledger. If you are a model or want to submit someone you better be up to snuff. Oh, and they will have to be between 14 and 20 years old and at least 5'8 in height. Get em young, eh Trump?

Will Trump Save the Yellowstone Club?

We've certainly chatted about this Montana millionaires' resort over the past six months as it filed for Chapter 11 and then finally for bankruptcy. Now, with bids to purchase the property due in the next month, offers are emerging with interest even expressed from Donald Trump. Although Trump isn't aggressively pursuing the Club, considering its many extensive issues, he is investigating the possibility of associating the Trump name with the golf and ski resort. If the club isn't purchased, what then?

Trump's Luxury Magazine Off To A Good Start

Could the third time be the charm for Trump magazine? Donald Trump has twice before published a luxury magazine with his name on it that lost money. But late last year Trump announced that he would be partnering with luxury publisher Ocean Drive Media on a relaunch. Mediaweek reports that the debut January issue had a healthy 144 ad pages (including luxury brands such as Gucci and Cartier), and the second issue has another 290 booked.

Trump has stated that he is interested in having the magazine not for his self-aggrandizement, but as a service to his hotels and condos. Trump's magazine does have a captive audience. The magazine, which has a distribution of 100,000, will be delivered to all Trump properties and newsstands. It will also sell for $5.95 in limited locations. Jerry Powers, Niche Media president , says that the luxury market is strong despite an overall weakness in magazine ad sales. With The Apprentice doing well in the ratings once more, could this, once again, be the year of Trump?

Trump Home Furniture Collection

Donald Trump may not have invited you over for dinner recently, but you will soon be able to sit at his table whenever you please. As we mentioned in March, the biggest name in real estate is moving into furniture design with the Trump Home furniture collections for Lexington Home Brands.

Trump didn't just lend his name to this new line of home furnishings; he opened up his personal homes to designers to be inspired by his own luxurious style. The results are two distinct Trump Home collections: The Westchester and the Central Park.

For those who prefer a more formal and sophisticated look, the Westchester Collection promises to warm your home with quality woods, leathers and brocades. Trump's Central Park collection draws on his metropolitan New York roots with modern lines to create a contemporary city chic look.

Promising quality craftsmanship and high design, the Trump Home collections will be available this summer.

Trump Baja Spa Tower

The second phase of Donald Trump's Baja project has been announced. The Spa Tower at Trump Ocean resort will be home to 182 condo-hotel units. The project, located about 30 minutes from San Diego, will feature rooms with an organic feel. The suites will use organic furnishings, materials and colors taken from the local environment and a muted palette that incorporates quartz, glass and pebble tiles and native plant motifs.

Spa Tower owners will have easy access to the spa where they can indulge in massages, sea salt wraps, facials, manicures, pedicures and custom treatments. The spa will have an ocean view and a floating stone bridge over water ponds, a spa boutique, a relaxation room, unique women's and men's locker rooms, women's and men's outdoor warm soaking pools, a meditation garden, steam cave, and a therapeutic outdoor Jacuzzi tub with a waterfall.

The first Baja Trump offering set a one-day real estate sales record for Mexico at $122 million in December 2006. Prices for studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom hotel-condominiums start in the mid-$300,000's.

Trump Tower Set To Go Up In Toronto

We first heard rumblings about Trump's Toronto efforts two years ago, now it looks like it is an official go. The Toronto Star reports that a Toronto developer has secured the funding to begin construction on the 70-story Trump International Hotel and Tower in downtown Toronto. Talon International Development Inc. have arranged $310 million in financing with an Austrian bank and the construction of Canada's first Trump Tower should begin later this year. Condo-hotel suites in the hotel tower start at $800,000 and larger residential suites start at $1.8 million.

Trump Signs On To Cap Cana

Filed under: Estates, Luxury Travel & Hotels

Donald Trump is at it again, finding the most beautiful places in the world and slapping his name on them. This time, he is signing up to be part of a massive resort that we have already been following. The latest Trump development will be at Cap Cana in the Dominican Republic. Trump at Cap Cana will include a golf course, golf villas and golf lots, estate lots, a beach club, a condo hotel, and residences with ocean views for a project said to be worth around two billion dollars. The first phase will be Trump Farallon Estates at Cap Cana, 68 large estates in a gated community on top of a bluff.

Trump Reaches A Real Estate Record in Hawaii

We knew that Hawaii was hot but Donald Trump proved just how toasty the real estate market really is there when it comes to condos. The Trump International Hotel & Tower Waikiki Beach Walk has set a world record for the amount of residential property (by dollar and unit volume) sold in one development on a single day. The total was over $700 million and by the end of the first day of a planned two-day sales event, all of the 464 hotel suites and residences were sold.

Buyers came from around the world but Japanese buyers made up the largest group of buyers, picking up units priced from the mid-$400,000's for a studio suite, to over $9 million for a three bedroom penthouse. Purchasers will have to wait until 2009 to take ownership of their new condos which will also have access to a library, wine cellar, lobby bar, infinity edge pool and 24-hour maid and concierge services.

Trump Heads To Baja

Filed under: Estates, Luxury Travel & Hotels

Just call him Señor Trump. Donald Trump and Irongate are building a large new resort, Trump Ocean Resort Baja Mexico, a co-tel project located in North Baja, Mexico just 20 minutes from San Diego. It's big news because it represents the first condo-hotel project to hit the Baja peninsula. The large hotel will include the type of luxuries usually found in Cabo San Lucas but often in short supply further up the peninsula such as owner's concierge, a lobby bar & lounge, a pool house bar & café and a fine dining restaurant, an infinity edge resort pool, and lap and family pools, a spa, a fitness center, tennis courts, and walking trails. Prices for the studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom residences will start in the mid-$200s and construction is scheduled to begin in late 2006 with the completion of the first tower scheduled for late 2008. It's not the first upscale resort we have seen planned for the area but once the Trump rolls into town an area officially loses its chance to remain relatively undiscovered.
