Tyson Beckford To Host Fashion Weekend In Trinidad

Carribbean entertainment brand Antilia has put together a new "weekend experience" at The Carlton Savannah with hopes that it will help position the republic as the fashion capital of the region. Scheduled for next weekend, the 3 day event will be hosted by supermodel Tyson Beckford and will feature Trinidadian fashion designer Meiling debuting her "Noir" collection and former Miss Trinidad and Tobago Anya Ayoung-Chee who will unveil her latest called "Anya de Rogue".

Simon Khan, CEO of Antilia, hinted that more exciting details about the event would be unveiled soon as well as saying "We are aiming to position Trinidad and Tobago as the hot new international weekend destination of fashion shows and private parties." The event is scheduled for May 28-30th, 2010.

Luxury Package To The Tobago Jazz Festival

This year's festival includes Elton John, LL Cool J, Mary J Blige, Diana Ross, Al Green and many other performers. The package includes private jet travel from Miami to Barbados, a stay at the Crane in Barbados, flights over to Tobago for the festival and tickets for the three-day event, day cruises, spa services and all meals and drinks. The trip costs $22,950 per couple and 25 packages remain.

Ian Fleming's Private Island for Sale

As we mentioned earlier, the 10-acre private island owned by James Bond creator Ian Flemming is up for sale. The island, just off the coast of Tobago in the Caribbean, is known as Goat Island. It is approximately 1 mile from the nearest town, called Speyside, and the estate comes with a boat parcel in the town to make travel easier. The main house on the property is a two-story West Indies villa that has 3 bedrooms, all of which have ocean views, and four bathrooms. There are two small apartments, each with a bed and bath, on the hill just up from the main house.

One of the main draws of the property, aside from its exclusive location, is that there is a world-class coral reef just offshore and Fleming himself used to spend an hour a day snorkeling there. Offers of $3 million and above are being accepted.
