Piaget Limelight 'True' Cocktail Rings

Filed under: Jewelry, Timepieces / Watches

I am not a woman, nor do I wear rings, but I will be the first to admit these are very cool. They are so cool, I think most people will almost forget these are high-end luxury goods. From the Limelight collection by Piaget, these are a new line of cocktail rings that actually look like real cocktail drinks. And I've always wondered why they were called cocktail rings... These rings are very fun and well designed. Piaget did an excellent job replicating the look of popular cocktail drinks in jewelry.

There are six rings in this particular Limelight collection, each has a name of a drink. Seen here is the Piaget Limelight Cocktail Mojito ring. It is in 18k white gold with 182 diamonds (1.52 carats). The "drink" itself is a 24 carat cushion-cut green tourmaline, with a 3 carat citrine stone cut to look like a lime - covered with a white gold and tsavorite "peel.' The "mint leaves" are emeralds. Stunning and so creative!

Other rings in the collection are equally nice and use stones and gold applicable to the look of the drink. In addition the Limelight Cocktail Mojito, there is also the Whiskey on the Rocks, Cosmopolitan, White Tonic, Blue Ocean, and Blueberry Daiquiri. Truly charming - and will not be cheap.

Tonic, a Web site devoted to doing good, recently launched the Celebrity iPod Auction Series to benefit Music Rising, an organization that replaces lost or destroyed instruments in the hurricane-affected Gulf Coast region. Every week, from now through August, Tonic will launch between one and five autographed iPods loaded with celebrities' personal playlists and put them up for auction, with 100% of the revenue going directly to rescue the musical culture of the Central Gulf. More than 70 A-list celebrities are participating, from ex-Presidents, to rock stars, to models -- even Warren Buffett. Each celebrity is given a new iPod, which he or she autographs and Tonic pre-loads with 10 - 20 of his or her favorite songs.

Tonic Generation, Charity of the Day

Filed under: Apparel, Charity, Charity of the Day

Tonic Generation offers just one product in many styles (T-shirts) but donates on average 40 percent of its revenue. The organization partners with designers and causes to create limited edition products in these areas: the environment, education, social welfare and poverty. Luella Bartley recently designed four T-shirts with names like Stag, Scary Douglas, Pagan Sun, and Robin. Each has been designed especially for Tonic. Made of a 70-30 bamboo/cotton blend, the fabric does not harm the environment and has been produced according to ethical practices. Tonic is similar to iGive in that you can choose your cause and track your impact. Read the FAQs for more info on how it works!

Hendrick's Gin

Hold the lime, make it a cucumber!  A cucumber is the best choice of fruit for your Hendrick’s gin and tonic.  The cucumber brings out the fortifying combination of infused botanicals. In this old apothecary shaped bottle you will find a gin infused with Bulgarian Rose, coriander, and cucumbers. Unlike most English made gins, Hendrick's is small batch distilled in Ayrshire, Scotland. The lowland Scottish water provides the perfect medium for the grain spirit and the unusual array of botanicals.
I can unhesitatingly say this is absolutely the best gin I have ever had. Feathery, crisp, and a clear essence of cucumber.    With it I have made an absolutely prestigious gin martini and gin and tonic.
