Thomas Pink iPod Commuter Tie

LVMH-owned London shirtmakers and haberdashers Thomas Pink have updated the iPod Commuter Tie for their upcoming Autumn Winter 2009/2010 collection.

Described as "a sophisticated 100% silk woven tie and useful mp3 storage device in one," the natty neckwear features a small pocket on the reverse of the tie designed to perfectly fit the new iPod Nano as well as other smaller mp3 players.

The music player is placed in the tie pocket to avoid having expensive devices on display or damaging the line of one's suit, while an extra fabric loop keeps wires (including headphone wires) out of sight and close to the body, leaving the hands free.

The new Commuter tie is available in eight colors - gray, charcoal, purple, blue, green, orange, red and deep pink - and will be available from Thomas Pink stores from September 2009 or online at www.thomaspink.com, priced at $100.

Pink Panther Collection from Thomas Pink

LVMH-owned London shirtmakers and haberdashers Thomas Pink has teamed up with MGM and Columbia Pictures to celebrate the just-released Pink Panther 2 starring Steve Martin as Inspector Clouseau. The company has created a special Pink Panther Collection of shirts and accessories. Striking pink-and-black Slimfit shirts, at $195 apiece, feature a Martini stripe with double-cuff and Morrison stripe with button cuff, while the Pink Panther Plain is a more generously Classic cut shirt trimmed with the Martini stripe. There are also pouncing Pink Panther silver cufflinks with crystal eyes at $150, Martini Stripe boxers at $40 and eye-catching socks at $30, also with a tendency to pinkness. The In the Pink striped tie picks up on the bold pink-and-black theme, while the Pink Panther character appears on the tipping of the tie, which is available at $100. There is also a selection of shirts for women.

Thomas Pink's Mogul Shirt

Does your shirt really need a pocket for your cigar? Yes, says Thomas Pink. According to Fashion Week Daily, they are rolling out this shirt called the Mogul. The Mogul comes in pink or white and has a split breast pocket designed to hold your cigar on one side and a lighter or cutter on the other. The shirt costs $195 and the pocket is box-pleated so it will lay down nice and flat when not in use. Wear it with their previously released iPod tie and you may never need to own a man-purse.

Pink Nano Tie

This article is dated February, but it slipped under my RADAR and is worth a mention in case you missed it too. Thomas Pink, manufacturer of some fabulous shirts, has a tie with an iPod Nano holder on the inside. How cool is that? Listen to your Nano at work while still in business professional attire. Nano incorporating clothing is nothing new, we covered a belt buckle not too long ago, but nothing in the luxury sector until the $100 "commuter" tie from Pink.

Pink Panther Shirts From Thomas Pink

We are familiar with movie tie-ins at fast food restaurants but the upcoming Pink Panther movie is aiming for a more adult audience. MGM Consumer Products has announced a tie-in with Thomas Pink to sell Pink-Panther-themed shirts and accessories. The new movie, out in February, stars Steve Martin as the bumbling Inspector Clouseau. The Pink Panther Collection includes pink and black shirts, Pink Panther cufflinks, and a Pink Panther tie. The shirts will be available at Thomas Pink starting this week.
