Blowing snow and whipping winds are just around the corner but not to worry, Burberry's new Winter Storms capsule collection has the stuff to help you toughen up this winter and look your best no matter what the weather does. Featuring something for everyone (men, women, children) the collection is heavy on black and marked by over-sized check patterns and metal studs in unlikely places (such as on the shoulder of a t-shirt or the underside of a jacket collar) that lend a certain punk air to otherwise conservative pieces. There are even office-worthy knit sweaters and pencil skirts with rows of studs to help you let out your inner bad-ass just ever so slightly. Winter doesn't stand a chance. $195 - $2195

It's been awhile since I've picked a studded black leather handbag to feature but the trend is going strong as this Burberry beauty demonstrates. The Studded Leather Knight Bag will bring a strong dose of tough-girl chic to your travel wardrobe. Part of Burberry's "Winter Storms" line that puts a modern twist on classic pieces, this bag features a plethora (love it when I can use that word) of gunmetal studs, an attached buckle-fastening key fob, protective metal feet, double top handles, and an interior that features two large compartments with zip closure and a black and white lining in the signature Burberry check pattern. $2,195

Studs love living on a structured bag and I love this studded black leather beauty by Thomas Wylde for its grid-like pattern and boxy shape. The Studded Leather Clutch can be carried two ways: by the designer-stamped silver-lined handle or under your arm with the top folded down. The slightly distressed leather contrasts with the tightly packed and highly shined studs for fierce fashion statement. The bag closes via zipper and has an animal-skull print lining with two interior pockets. DKNY Studded Leather Shoulder Bag, Handbag of the Day

The DKNY Studded Leather Shoulder Bag is great for those who love casual gold and browns. It's apparently inspired by the military but to me it looks much more celestial in nature. Golden studs in all sizes of round and pyramids dot every surface of the light brown leather exterior. It has a single adjustable top handle, a zip-top closure, two internal zip pockets, and a fun pop of color in the form of a purple twill lining. I wish it came in a silver version but it's a beautiful day bag nevertheless. $425

Temperly London Shoulder Bag with Studs, Handbag of the Day

A pretty, structured bag in a nice shade of blue that's somewhere between navy and periwinkle, the studs are what really give this Temperly London design most of its personality. Small for a shoulder bag it's still big enough to hold essentials during the day while being small enough to transfer seamlessly into a casual evening scene. The bag is made of 100% leather except for the studs, hardware, and delicate ribbon detailing on the front flap in black and cream tones, and the entire thing hinges on a large bar that runs along the top. The stud. A term that references a fashion staple that includes countless varieties in different colors, shapes, and sizes but that always have at least one thing in common: exuding toughness. Of course that probably comes from their association with ancient fighters and gladiators wearing them into battle, but nowadays they can be found on everything from suede evening bags to luxe golden rings to sky-high stilettos. This Allen Medium Satchel by Halston looks like a smaller bag was eaten by a larger bag but put up a good fight. Slouchy black leather sides and straps (looks more like charcoal gray to me) combine with black suede side panels and silver stud details that look like a sprinkling of stars on a dark night sky. A very casual but chic style in classic colors and materials for a trendy look that doesn't scream too loud. Studded shoulder rest on the strap, a zip-top closure, and a matching lined interior with pocket round out the design. $2,195

Looking for a handbag with that bad-girl studded vibe? The Rebecca Minkoff 'Stud Devote' Belted Tote has studs galore, rows and rows of them, handplated and placed on rich Italian leather. This color, which I think absolutely glows next to the gold studs, is called "Papaya" and will easily take you fashionably all the way through summer and into the fall. Michael Kors Skorpios Hobo, Handbag of the Day

Michael Kors has put out some great, large bags this season and the Skorpios Hobo is no exception. Though classified as a hobo and not as a tote, the bag actually falls somewhere in between the two styles. It has a single shoulder strap, attached with clips at either end, and an unstructured open top for easy access to the bag's contents. It is made of supple calfskin and available in both black and brown. The black bag has tarnished silver studs and hardware, while the brown has gold. All the studs are uniquely shaped as small pyramids, which lends them an unusually geometric look that complements the slouchy style of the bag. Price: $1,195.
