Sir Jackie Stewart Reportedly Crashes Pagani Zonda in Scotland
Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

The unfortunate reality is that possessing the money required to buy a big-ticket exotic supercar doesn't always come with the skill necessary to drive them. So it seems that every day come reports of the nouveau riche crashing Ferraris and Lamborghinis. But this one stands out. Not only because the car is so rare and expensive, but because the driver certainly doesn't lack the skills.
A Pagani Zonda was crashed recently near Aberdeen, Scotland. Now that's reason enough to cry, because the Zonda is a rare beast even in the rarified field of Italian supercars. But as if to make the story more compelling, reports suggest that it was none other than Sir Jackie Stewart behind the wheel of the crashed Pagani.
Sir Jackie is well known, both to locals and to racing fans around the world as one of the most accomplished drivers who ever lived. Over the course of his career, he's won the Formula One World Championship no less than three times, putting him on par with the likes of Niki Lauda, Nelson Piquet, Jack Brabham and Ayrton Senna and behind five-time world champion Juan Manuel Fangio and seven-time champ Michael Schumacher in the record books.
Sir Jackie's spokesperson has denied the report, but with the Zonda heading back to the factory in Modena for repairs that could amount to some $450,000, we doubt the supercar cares who was driving.
