Chinese Man Orders a €500,000 Fiat 500

You remember Fenice Milano, don't you? The Italian car modifier is the outfit behind the La Dolce Vita edition Fiat 500. And now someone's ordered one for a reported €500,000. That's easily twenty times what the base car costs, so what did the anonymous Chinese buyer get for his money?

For starters, this vehicle didn't start life as the base Fiat 500. It's an Abarth 500C, the performance model with the convertible roof. Romeo Ferraris was brought in to tune the engine up to 200 horsepower and install a custom suspension and Brembo brakes. Then Fenice Milano gave it a 24-karat gold paint job, decked the interior out in teak and installed a diamond-studded iPod "supreme edition" from Stuart Hughes. Have a closer look in the gallery below and the video after the jump.

Abarth 500 Monza Limited Edition by Fenice Milano & Romeo Ferraris

Romeo Ferraris and Fenice Milano share a common passion for the Fiat 500. While both Italian tuning houses have taken on far more expensive machinery, they've also devoted considerable attention to the retro hatchback, and have chosen it as their way of paying tribute to one of Italy's most famous racing tracks.

The Abarth 500 Monza edition is limited to just ten individually numbered and personalized examples. Romeo Ferraris stepped in to give it nearly twice as much horsepower (260 vs 135 stock), upgraded brakes and wheels and a full aero kit. Fenice Milano has given it a custom paint job with red and blue stripes, Monza logos and a white leather interior, complete with custom tote bag. Take a closer look in the gallery below.

Supercharged Corvette Z06 by Romeo Ferraris

If you want a supercharged, carbon fiber Corvette, there are two ways to go about it: you could order a ZR1 straight from the factory, or you could buy a next-rung-down Z06 and bring it to Romeo Ferraris.

The Italian tuners typically focus on Italian cars, but have made a notable exception in this case. Fitting a centrifugal supercharger and a variety of other goodies bring output up to 667 horsepower and 607 lb-ft of torque, just edging out the ZR1. 0-62 comes in 3.3 seconds, with a top speed of 211 mph.

Fiat 500C Sardinia by Romeo Ferraris

Between the Pink and Diesel editions, buyers looking at the Fiat 500C but looking for a little added dose of style have where to look. And now they've got another option, thanks to Italian customizers Romeo Ferraris.

The tuning house may be known for more hardcore models, but in the case of the limited-edition 500C Sardinia, has gone a decidedly more style-conscious route. Only 50 examples of the Fiat 500C Sardinia by Romeo Ferraris will be made, each featuring a unique shade of green inspired by Italy's emerald coast, offset by gold accents and sand-colored roof and leather interior with a cork dashboard. 16-inch wheels and a new exhaust are the only performance modifications, but you can see it all in the high-resolution image gallery below.

Custom Land Rover Defender by Aznom and Romeo Ferraris

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

Remember the old days when a truck was a truck, and was completely devoid of luxury amenities? Those are the days that gave us the original sport-utility vehicles, like the Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen, the Toyota Land Cruiser, and this, the Land Rover Defender. The Merc G has since gone dramatically upscale, the Land Cruiser has been transformed into the Lexus LX, but the Land Rover Defender is still the bare-bones workhorse it always was. That is, until Aznom came along and changed all that.

The Italian coachbuilder known for its innovative Mini conversions took the Defender and tricked it out with all manner of custom touches, from the carbon-fiber bumpers to the light brown leather and Alcantara interior. Tuning house Romeo Ferraris was brought in to squeeze some extra juice out of the 2.4-liter turbo-diesel inline-four engine, bringing output up from 122 horsepower to 152. And of course the requisite custom paint job is all part of the package. Have a closer look in the gallery below.
