Watching the Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race via Google Earth
Filed under: Yachts & Sailing
We've written before about yachtspotting using Google Earth.
Now you can also watch a yacht race using the program. This year, according to Gizmag, the entire world can watch the
Rolex Sydney Hobart Yacht Race, which starts today, via the Internet. The race's web site has a yacht tracker but the
race can also be watched via Google Earth with yacht positions and standings updated every ten minutes. It should be an
interesting race with the Alfa Romeo and
Wild Oats XI both expected to do well and this may be a record-setting year.
