What's appealing about the "Stars For A Cause" charity auction on May 28 at Bonhams Los Angeles aside from the fact that it supports some great causes is that it features jewelry designed by celebrities. The pieces where created with jewelry designer Robyn Rhodes who is known for using large gemstones and vintage inspired designs. The celebrities who were either this season's awards' nominees or presenters of awards, were asked to design their own jewelry to wear on the red carpet and which will then be sold in the auction. Some of who participated include: Amy Adams, Steve Carell, Ricky Gervais, Goldie Hawn, Philip Seymour Hoffman, Angelina Jolie, ,Reese Witherspoon and others were are showcased in the gallery below. Kate Winslet designed the "Y" form necklace above which has purple red quartz drops with handwired tops. The Academy Award winner's necklace is estimated at $1,000 - 1,200 with proceeds to benefit Cardboard Citizens. The auction also features signed posters, shoes and a collection of purses each embellished with a celebrity "kiss" and autograph.
