Vogard Radiator F1 Watch

New from one of the cooled indy active watch makers I know of is the Vogard Radiator F1. It takes the concept of the standard line of Vogard world time watches and gives it an F1 racing them. The "Radiator" part of the name comes from the skeletonized watch dial that looks like part of a car radiator. The cool watch allows you to adjust the timezone simply by turning the bezel. Open the latch located on the right side of the watch to unlock the bezel motion. The time changes easily without any loss in timing accuracy. There is of course also a 24 hour hand used as an AM/PM indicator - not sure if it is independently adjustable as a GMT hand.

The 43mm wide case is made from black steel and Titanium Carbide. The complex to make case is very hard and water resistant to 100 meters. Another part of the F1 theme are the replacement of the reference time city names on the bezel. They have been replaced by famous F1 tracks all over the world. The timepiece also makes it possible to indicate Daylight Saving Time (DST), when taking into consideration the differences between timezones. The movement is a Swiss automatic specially modified by Vogard. The watch is a difference style that the more conservative line of Vogard watches but is true to the brand's DNA. The watch is available with a number of straps, including a metal bracelet, rubber, or alligator (red or black). Available soon.

Oreste & Emma Radiators from Antrax

Combine sheet metal, radiant heat and pop-art -- what do you get? Playful radiators from Antrax for your home or contemporary social space. Modern, sleek and fun these traditional symbols for 'men' and 'women' were reconstructed into purposeful water or electric based radiators by Italian designer Andrea Crosetta. Measuring 172cm tall these funky signs can direct bathroom traffic or simply accent a bathroom wall. I'm always drawn to items that have more than one purpose and these certainly fit the bill!

Accuro-Korle Ecstasy Stainless Steel Radiator

There are some things that are necessary in a home but are rarely an intentional part of the decor, like heating appliances for example. Rarely do space heaters and radiators make the "oh, that's so gorgeous!" list...except for this one anyway.

Described as a "dramatic floor-to-ceiling statue of swirling stainless steel elements," the Accuro-Korle Ecstasy stainless steel radiator will definitely makes an impression from any corner of a room. It's free standing and fully height adjustable, and it takes 3 weeks to create just one of these sculptures/heating appliances due to 640 precision welds. £6678.53.

Designer ... umm ... Radiators

Down here in the great state of Texas, we don't really do radiators. If it gets cold, turn your fan off. If it gets really cold, add another blanket to the bed. That's the extent of heating the home. So the concept of a really sweet looking radiator struck me as odd. Then I remembered reading a post from Deidre earlier this year about something similar. Turns out, there are three posts on fancied up radiators other than this one. None-the-less, Tubor's designs range from really weird to mirror-finished LED lit (pictured). Most of them look cool, and I would think that if your conditions required a radiator, these would make sense to look into.

Heat Wave Radiators

Knowing our love of artistic radiators the folks over at Yanko Design sent us the news that the Heat Wave radiator, the modular radiator with the rococo curves, will be available for consumers. Droog Design will be selling the electronic version of the radiator which is made of concrete and aluminium consolidated by glass fibre. The radiatior, which is created of four basic elements can be extended to be as large as desired. The designer Joris Laarman is also working with the Belgium firm Jaga to create a water version of the Heat Wave which should be available in the early part of 2007. Droog is currently showing off the Heat Wave at the Ambiente fair in Frankfurt, Germany.
