Pharrell's New Find: Shipton & Heneage Slippers

We had already guessed that Pharrell Williams is something of an anglophile judging by his passion for Rolls-Royces. Now the hip-hop star / designer has a new carefully crafted find from the United Kingdom: Shipton & Heneage velvet slippers. Williams recently ordered a pair of the firm's velvet Albert model slip-ons (above) embroidered with an antique pistol motif. Shipton & Heneage's gentlemen's slippers are hand stitched and bench-made in England from the finest materials. They have two retail shops in London, two in Paris and one Scotland, and also offer mail order worldwide. Prices for the slippers, which come in black, navy blue, green, brown or burgundy velvet, range from $185 for stock emblems such as a skull, lion, or stag to $250 for a more complex dragon or ivy motif.

Pharrell Williams Rocks Two Rolls-Royces

Musician, producer and designer Pharrell Williams needs not one but two Rolls-Royces to get around town - when he isn't driving one of his other supercars, that is. The producer of acts including Madonna, Justin Timberlake, Kanye West and Jay-Z bemoans the fact that the Rolls has become too popular with rappers, but says it still preserves some cachet.

"In the early days, the cars were rarities," Williams tells Motor Trend. Now however, "They're kind of ubiquitous. [But] the saving grace is: It's still a Rolls. Every stitch and every tiny detail are brilliant. It's traditional and consistent quality. They spare nothing. Also, you can drive it just how you're feeling. It can be a luxury vehicle or you can really put your foot in it and it darts out like an arrow. I had a Bentley but it wasn't for me. At the end of the day, a Rolls is a Rolls."

He likes 'em so much he has two, a Phantom for being chauffered in - ""I sit in the back and recline with my gold Blackberry, like Richie Rich" - and a Phantom Drophead Coupe for driving himself, in black with a red leather interior. He also has a Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren and a Ferrari Enzo. As for the latter, "Man, you have to be in the mood to drive that," Williams tells the mag. "It's so fast, it's like being in a spaceship or a stealth bomber. And there's no radio, so I can't have any tunes. I love it but you really have to be in race car mode."

Pharrell's Turn as Furniture Designer

This is the Perspective chair and it's the result of a collaboration between designer Pharrell Williams and Domeau & Pérès. Representing the love between a woman and a man, the chair is part of a collection (including another chair and a table) that will be displayed in a show in Paris at Emmanuel Perrotin Galerie starting in October and running through January 2009. The chairs will be available in different colors, with only 4 of each color being made.

Personally I think it couldn't be uglier...

Pharrell To Create New Louis Vuitton Jewelry Line

Musician Pharrell Williams already worked with Louis Vuitton to create the Millionaire sunglasses line. Now he will be making a new line of jewelry for the fashion label. Marc Jacobs arranged to have Pharrell work with jewelry designer Camille Miceli for the collection. Miceli styled Mariah Carey for her music video "Say Somethin'," which also features Pharrell and Snoop Dogg. The Miceli/Pharrell collaboration will debut in early 2007 and will feature large scale jewels that are very unique. If the Millionaire sunglasses are any indication, this new line will definitely not be understated.
