The One-of-a-Kind Pagani Zonda Tricolore

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

Even among exotic supercars, the Pagani Zonda is a rare beast. The Zonda Cinque even rarer, issued (as the name suggests) in a limited run of five examples. But this is rarer still: the Zonda Tricolore.

Built to honor the Frecce Tricolori aerobatics squadron of the Italian air force, the Zonda Tricolore is based on the aforementioned Zonda Cinque, but carries a number of special touches. The titanium-carbon weave of which the Zonda Tricolore is built has been left exposed, tinted only by a clear blue lacquer, and accented by the red, green and white stripes running up the hood. The triangular air vents at the tail are unique, as are the LED headlights.

Only one example will be built and sold for 1.3 million euros, or about $1.75 million. The Zonda Tricolore will be unveiled at the upcoming Geneva Motor Show, presumably the last iteration of the Zonda before its replacement – currently under development with the C9 moniker – rolls in to supplant it.

One-of-a-Kind Zonda PS Is Most Exclusive Pagani Yet

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

All Zondas are equal, but some are more equal than others. That is to say, each supercar from exclusive automaker Pagani is an absolute jewel of exotic machinery, but even amidst this rarefied field, there are certain examples that stand out above the others. Like the one you see here, the Zonda PS.

Created as a one-of-a-kind example for discerning British client Peter Saywell, the Zonda PS is based on the penultimate Zonda F after the exclusive Zonda Cinque was all sold out and the Zonda R can only be driven on a race track. The Zonda PS is identifiable by its unique paint scheme and four-abreast tail pipes, and is said to be powered by a 650-horsepower version of the Zonda's Mercedes-AMG V12 engine driving through the sequential transmission developed for the Zonda's imminent successor.

Slow Economy, Fast Cars: Speculation Drives Up the Price of the Pagani Zonda

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos, Wealth

You'd be forgiven for thinking that the values on exotic supercars have tanked as a result of the weakened economy. You'd be forgiven, but you'd be wrong, at least in the case of the Pagani Zonda. The rare supercar is built in extremely limited quantities at a dedicated factory in the Mecca of sportscars: Modena, Italy. Supply is so limited that demand is driving prices through the roof even with the global economy in shambles. The company itself has increased the price of its rare supercar dramatically over the years, however used examples are selling for even more: the original C12 listed at £200k but is now worth £350k, the latest Zonda F retails for £470k if you're on the waiting list, but if you want one now, be prepared to spend closer to £1 million, while the track-focused Zonda R is priced at £1.4 million before deliveries have even begun. That kind of speculation is common in the best of times, but even today, with Wall Street burning, those who have the money are seeing the Pagani Zonda as a more reliable, tangible investment than the usual channels.

1st Pagani Zonda Cinque for Sale at $2 Million

Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

Zonda cinque
An eye-popping Pagani Zonda Cinque supercar, the first of only five ("cinque" = five) being built for collectors worldwide, is for sale in Germany via global luxury marketplace JamesList with a price of €1,600,000, or about $2 million. The limited edition run of the ultra-rare exotic, which will be on display at next month's Geneva Motor Show, was already sold out by the time it was officially announced some months back. The car, with a bespoke titanium and carbon fiber chassis, has 678 horsepower and 575 lb. ft. of torque taking it from 0 - 60 mph in 3.4 seconds. Pagani, founded by former Lamborghini designer Horatio Pagani, recently announced the final series of the Zonda, the Zonda R, but with 15 models for sale and a lower price it's arguably less exclusive than the Cinque.
