Oh how I love purple! I don't know what it is but it is at once bold, mysterious, earthy and feminine all in one neat package. So obviously I approve of Nancy Gonzalez's choice of color for this fantastic handbag. This eggplant-hued Pleated Crocodile Shoulder Bag has stunning braided handles with a six-inch drop, inside pockets and a suede lining. A well proportioned bag, it hugs beneath the arm yet is spacious enough for a legal pad making it work-worthy. A delicious compliment to any outfit, Nancy has created an elegant yet contemporary handbag for the modern woman. I just need to find $2,850 to make it mine. (13" x 9 1/2" x 3 1/2")

This perfect bag alternates croc patterns on five evenly, artfully pleated panels across the front and back. The sides have just the right amount of give to lend the bag this highly aesthetically pleasing shape. Frames are going to be big this season, and this bag's frame is substantial and elegant, and the double straps are long enough to throw easily over your shoulder.

This Colombian-made bag is 9 1/2"H x 13 1/2"W x 5 1/2"D, and has metal feet to protect the soft, quilted Caiman fuscus crocodile. As usual, this Nancy Gonzalez is lined in suede, and if you're over purple (and if you're not now, you might be by the end of 2009), the bag also comes in a chic matte black.

Nancy Gonzalez Zebra HoboOur love affair with Nancy Gonzalez continues with this striking Zebra Hobo.

Made in Columbia, this bag features a warm tan and black zebra-print haircalf exterior with shiny black Caiman fuscus crocodile accents, double top handles with a magnetic closure, and protective feet on the bottom. The inside has zipper pockets and a cell phone pocket, and at 13"H x 15"W x 4"D, this bag is big enough for day -- and still sexy and dressy enough for night.

What does this go with? Everything. Black compliments black, brown would pick up the golden tones, and white would be a sharp and fabulous contrast. That "Add to Wish List" button on the BG page has never been so enticing.

The Nancy Gonzales Zebra Hobo is available from Bergdorf Goodman for $2,550, unless you're in Canada. We don't know why.

Feeling citrus-inspired? Summer time always brings out the perky, citrus-side of me causing an infusion of lemons, limes and oranges into as many dishes and drinks as possible. This Brilliant Croc Framed Satchel from Nancy Gonzalez certainly tempts my palate in this lime green hue. Loud enough to stand up to a weekend in Miami but structured enough for the country club, this zesty satchel is definitely worthy of some summer fun. One of our favorite luxury handbag designers, Nancy Gonalez -- just look at this ivory colored, pale yellow suede lined, Nancy Gonzalez Crocodile Cutout Satchel -- is having a very special event!

April 3rd from 2-4 pm EST at Bergdorf Goodman in NYC, handbag lovers will have an opportunity to meet with Nancy Gonzalez and her Senior Vice President Linda Fargo to create a custom "Linda bag" (above). Clients will be able to choose from over 30 colors and finishes and receive design help from Fargo and Gonzalez themselves! The Linda bag comes in three sizes and ranges from $2,950 to $5,000 in price.

Nancy Gonzalez Crocodile Cutout SatchelThe Nancy Gonzalez Crocodile Cutout Satchel makes us think instantly of spring -- flowing dresses in delicate pastels, espresso in outdoor cafes, shopping up and down 5th Avenue, and lightweight vintage gloves on a casual, cool evening.

The intricately cut crocodile layered over a finely woven fabric creates the illusion of lace, but with a grander, more opulent feel. We thought we couldn't like this purse any more, but then we discovered its velvety, soft, pale yellow suede lining.

Since I started with Luxist I have never covered a Nancy Gonzalez bag but after seeing her Matte Crocodile Handbag I'm baffled as to my delay. This understated beauty with pleated front, cutout detailing on the sides and an arched handle is presented in salmon or cocoa crocodile. Yellow is a hot color this summer and this pale shade is lovely. The white gold crocodile bag is trimmed in python and has interesting, looped detailing on the handle. At just 4.5 inches, it's not a very tall bag. But what it lacks in height, it more than makes up for in length -- 11.75 inches. Inside, the bag is lined and has one cell-phone pocket. $2250.

Straw is a prominent component of many spring bags, as a lighter contrast from the heavy, primarily leather handbags that are in stores in winter. It also tends to make bags look much more casual than other materials and - let's face it - an all straw bag is just not always appropriate, no matter how season it may be. Nancy Gonzalez's Python/Straw Tote Bag strikes a nice balance between the luxury of the python and the casual straw, so the bag is much more versatile that you would expect a snakeskin (or plain straw) bag to be. I've never really been a huge fan of accessories made out of exotic leathers. For me, it was great to look at, but never enough to actually purchase. But Nancy Gonzalez has such a beautiful way of creating handbags that draw you into the pattern, the symmetry and the use of color in each product. Her natural Python Hobo is accented with a braided python strap. The interior is lined with beige suede, and features a zippered pocket and cell phone compartment. Inspired by the natural beauty of Columbia, her native country, each piece is a work of art. Price: $2850.
