Keeping Up with the Abramoviches: The 100 Largest Motor Yachts of 2010

In case you're a Jones-watching type, when it comes to this year's motor yachts you can take your eyes off the Joneses for a moment and turn them to Roman Abramovich. He'll be the one with the year's largest offering, the Eclipse, a yacht already so storied we wouldn't be surprised if it came with a paparazzi deck. That is, of course, assuming the intergalactically expensive yacht even gets finished.

If it doesn't, then the number two motor yacht (pictured), the Dubai, will maintain its place. Superyachts.com has a preview of this years private floating wonders, and a breakdown of the first 100 as far as size goes. In addition to the potential addition of Abramovich, there are two other new entrants to the top ten: the novel looking Swift141, and the 134-meter Fincantieri, which has been in the works for three years. Bringing up the aft is another newcomer: the 73-meter Admiral. Just 73.5 meters will get you on the list, so there's still time to place your order with the shipyard if the economic recovery has been good to you...

Wheels Yacht Available At A Discount

A charming 116-foot motor yacht is back on the market with a discount. The motor yacht Wheels was built by Horizon Yachts in 2002 and sleeps ten guests in five staterooms. The yacht's master suite includes a sunken bathroom and reflects italian style with a Versace-like opulence. The yacht was designed by Tomaso Spadolini with a low profile silhouette that includes a deep hull and large windows. The upper deck stows the yacht's tender and jet skis which are craned into the water for use. The upper deck is also home to a Jacuzzi and sunbathing area. There is ample dining space on the aft deck. Inside the yacht has been designed by Evan Marshall and has details like birds eye maple wall paneling, engraved glass door panels and marble floors. Twin engines keep Wheels spinning along at a cruising speed of 14 knots. The yacht is listed with Ocean Independence for 7,200,000 euros, a price reduction of 1,750,000 euros.

Lady Goodgirl Yacht For Sale

A classic motor yacht has hit the market. Lady Goodgirl, once known as the Lady Angela, was originally built back in 1964 by Hall Russell of Aberdeen. She had a refit in 2001 and additional cosmetic work in 2004. The yacht now offers room for 10 or 11 guests in three double staterooms and two twins. The 140 yacht cruises at 12 knots.

The yacht has a main saloon with dining area and a also a dining space on the aft deck for at least 12 people. The interior also offers a study with television, large day bathroom. The bridgedeck has a horseshoe bar with seating for 10 and drop down television/sky receiver and a large area with rattan seating and cushions. The upper deck has a sunbathing pad and exercise equipment. Entertainment options include Sky television and DVD access in all cabins.

The list of tenders that come with this yacht is impressive. Not only do you get a 15' Zodiac tender with 40HP Yamaha and a 25' tender with 200HP outboard but the yacht also comes with water skis, a wakeboard, two clear bottom canoes, snorkeling gear, fishing equipment, four sets of golf clubs and more. Lady Goodgirl has an asking price of $ 7,850,000.

James Packard's Vintage Yacht For Sale

This beautiful old yacht has a long history. The Matthews yacht was custom built in 1903 as a day cruiser for James Packard, the car manufacturer. This flush-deck type motor yacht has dual cabins and was used by Mr. Packard on Chautauqua Lake, New York hosting guests including Henry Ford and Thomas Edison. It represents the great beginnings of wooden motor yachts and has white oak frames with white cedar planking and mahogany interior trim. The exterior hardware is brass and the running lights and spotlight which were manufactured prior to 1890 were once oil lamps which have been converted to electric. This yacht was designated as a U.S. Postal boat in the 1970s and was portrayed on a special stamp. The nearly 42-foot yacht is listed for $750,000.

Itama SeventyFive Classic Italian Motoryacht

Itama Yachts, founded in Italy by Mario Amati in 1969, matched timeless style with the latest engineering. The sleek, powerful, blue-and-white boats became an instant hit with jetsetters and sportsmen on the Italian Riviera. The company's latest and largest offering, the $4 million SeventyFive (above), continues that tradition with new technology and style to spare. The 75-ft. motoryacht features high bows, a spectacular curved profile and a distinctively sleek structure created by a slim central roof.

An enormous carbon fiber and glass windshield and retractable canopy covers the cockpit, and large sliding sofas can be joined to form a vast horseshoe seating 12 people on deck. The layout includes three cabins and three baths below, as well as a twin crew cabin. Elegant materials are employed throughout, including natural teak and steel, wooden parquet floors, linen lacquered wall paneling and mosaic tiling for the bathrooms. With its twin 1823 hp MTU engines the yacht boasts peak speeds of up to 43 knots.

CODE-X High-Tech Hybrid Powerboat

The CODE-X high-tech hybrid powerboat is one of the more avant-garde motoryacht designs we've come across. If it goes into production with anything like these killer looks and the performance promised, the Swiss company stands to make a mint. The CODE-X is billed as "Formula 1 performance meets solar power." It features a flexible solar hybrid propulsion system enabling both quiet, environmentally friendly cruising in ports and coastal areas as well as high speed racing on open waters courtesy of a pair of Ilmor Marine 710 hp V10 Formula 1 engines.

A touchscreen on the dash lets you switch in whole or part to a bank of photovoltaic modules supplying electric motors and/or lithium batteries. With the gas engines going the CODE-X can do 90 knots while on full solar power it can only hit 9, but is practically silent. The boat also features a GPS-controlled Virtual Anchor system to keep it stationary regardless of the wind speed or water current, as well as a Kevlar/carbon shell with phototropic-shaded screens and windows.

The Sleek Sentori 58R Yacht

Yacht design renderings don't get much sexier than these. The Sentori 58R was dreamed up by Christian Gumpold and Christopher Gloning while they were working on their diploma thesis at the university of applied science in Graz, Austria. The 58-foot flybridge yacht has three decks and the vessel is powered by 2x 715 HP Volvo Penta diesel engines and can reach a topspeed of about 30 knots. The main deck includes the open air stern, pantry, dinette, and main helm station. The owner's state room, vip cabin, and guest cabin, each ensuite are located in the lower deck. The third deck holds a second helm station, lounge area, sunbathing area and the wet bar. This second helm station can be protected with a sliding transparent panel.

The Sentori 58R was designed to be lower and wider than other flybridge yachts. Its beautiful juxtaposition of light and dark with a black and gray hull set against a loft-like airy and white and light wood interior give the yacht a very modern feel. The first prototype is currently under construction in Turkey and should be out in the Spring.

Sensation Yacht Comes With Its Own Berth

One of the challenges of owning a yacht can be finding a place to berth her. The Sensation yacht for sale through Edmiston comes with its own spot on the French Riviera. The Sensation package includes the 1999 Mangusta 80 -foot Sensation as well as a desirable berth in Camille Rayon in the town of Golfe Juan and a 2005 Sunriva sports boat. Sensation has light interiors with cream leather sofas, plush carpeting and rare woods. The yacht went through a refitting and upgrading in 2007 and can sleep 7 guests and 3 crew. On deck there is a large cushioned sunbathing area aft of the cockpit and forward on the bow. There is also a dining and lounging area on deck and the entire cockpit area is air conditioned with a retractable cover for shade and privacy. The package is listed at 2,950,000 euros and a week's charter starts at 37,000 euros.

MIlk and Honey Yacht

This triple-deck beauty has the name Milk and Honey perhaps for her bright white exterior and her golden wood interior. This yacht was designed by Murry & Associates and built by the Palmer Johnson yard in Sturgeon Bay, Wisconsin. The 125-foot yacht was launched in 2003. She is powered by a pair of 1,800 hp MTU diesel engines with a top speed of 17 knots and a range of 3,500 nautical miles. The sundeck has a seven-person Jacuzzi surrounded by a granite-topped bar. The yacht has five cabins including a master staterooms on the main deck which is entered through the owner's private office. The sky lounge has a 42" plasma TV and state-of-the-art entertainment system, full wet bar and game table as well as a wine chiller and humidor. This luxurious yacht is listed at $17.25 million.

Feadship Launches First F45 Vantage

Feadship has launched Space, the first in their F45 Vantage semi-custom line. The 146-foot motoryacht is the flagship of the first series of three (the other two are already sold and slated for delivery at the end of 2007 and summer of 2008). The F45 Vantage is designed to be a home away from home and serve as a second home or floating beach house. The designers did with the interior formal dining room and placed the galley on the lower deck to offer more space for guest suites on the main deck. Each F45 Vantage can be customized through four different styles: Miami (classic art deco), Monaco (informal French), Milano (classic modern) and Nautical (distinguished and traditional). The yacht has a speed of 14.5 knots. A second series of three is already in production. The F45s will have four guest cabins (Space has three due to a configuration change). The owner's stateroom has a large glass skylight. Outside the sun deck has a Jacuzzi and sun pads. The lower deck includes the galley, crew mess, captain's cabin and four crew cabins.

Prinz 54 Coupe Cruiser Set To Debut In December

The Earls Court boat show in London isn't until December but the show is already announcing boats that will be shown.The latest is the Prinz 54 Coupe which will make its debut at the show. The Prinz coupe is a new 54-foot sports cruiser. The boat will have three cabins plus a crew cabin. It will be able to hit a maximum speed of 40 knots. The Prinz website features more renderings of the new boat. The main saloon area looks like it will be very light inside thanks to the glass roof.

Sabre 52 Express Yacht Launches

March isn't the best time to go boating in Maine but Sabre Yachts recently launched their Sabre 52 Salon Express, the largest motoryacht in the company's history in Portland, Maine on March 16. . The Sabre 52 has a classic trawler styling with an elevated helm deck that has twin Stidd helm chairs. The salon has a retractable sunroof to let in air and sunlight. It has an oversized U-shaped lounge around a cherry dining table. Other amenities of this small cruiser include a retractable LCD television, built-in wine cooler and icemaker, concealed bar area and exceptional recessed lighting. The galley includes a drawer refrigerators, a dishwasher, washer, dryer and a coffeemaker with a dedicated waterline. The yacht has an MSRP of $1,275,000.

Riva Venere 75

My Italian is rusty, but thanks to Systran, the page containing the first live shots of the Venere 75 is almost readable. Details of the Ferretti Group yacht include a 32 knot top and 29 knot cruise, 54 ton gross weight, and a 1,453 gallon fuel tank. The photos indicate a very open design with gorgeous sloping glass and plenty of hardwood. (On a side note, YachtWorld.com has one listed for sale at 3.3 million Euro)

WallyPower 70.2 Yacht

They call the new 70.2 WallyPower yacht a loft for the ocean. This is the first unit of the Open Version which has a suite-like interior layout. The glass superstructure is open in the back making the deck one large open space. There are three different social areas: the forward one inside the glass structure, the sheltered lounge and dining area, and the large rear sunbathing pad. The yacht includes a large owner's suite which takes up two thirds of the interiors and a crew/service area with a double cabin. It uses two MTU diesel engines generating 3,000 Hp driving KaMeWa water-jets, for a speed of 45 knots during sea trials. The pictures make it look a bit tank-like so I don't love it as much as other Wallys I have seen but I perhaps it is more gorgeous in person. An interior shot is after the jump.
