46664 Bangles for Nelson Mandela Charity

46664 Bangles are taking the fashion and celebrity scene by storm because not only are they interesting and stylish but they support a good cause -- like the luxury version of a plastic Live Strong bracelet. The precious metal bangles support the 46664 campaign, which is an African response to the global HIV/AIDs epidemic and gets its inspiration from the leadership of Nelson Mandela, and its name from Mandela's Robben Island prison number (466) and imprisonment year (1964).

The bangle program has received renewed interest and attention after Morgan Freeman, nominated for his portrayal of Mandela, wore his bespoke emerald and black diamond 46664 Bangle to the Oscars recently. He's rumored to never take it off but also says he'll be auctioning it off at some point to further support the cause. The bangles come in a range of prices from $23.95 for copper all the way up to $12,900 for the platinum model.

Morgan Freeman Gets A Jet For Christmas

One of our favorite celebrity pilots actor Morgan Freeman has a new toy for the holidays, a fancy new private jet. Gulf News reports that Freeman bought the SJ30 plane which was produced by Sino Swearingen Aircraft Corporation, a subsidiary of United Arab Emirates-based Emivest. Earlier this year as my colleague Jared Paul Stern reported, the SJ30 set a world speed record from London to Dubai in just 7hr 7 min including a fuel stop in Istanbul. The six-seater can retain sea level cabin pressure at 41,000 ft., reducing jet lag, and can fly more than 2,800 miles nonstop at speeds of up to 630 mph. It sells for approximately $8 million.

Freeman flew the plane from Los Angeles to Dubai to attend a a press conference at the Executive Flight Center at the Dubai Airport Free Zone to announce the sale of the new SJ30 from Emivest to Freeman. The Gulf News article says that Freeman is expected to stay in the UAE until December 27.

Is Everyone In Hollywood A Pilot?

Add another esteemed member to the list of celebrity pilots. Joining Tom Cruise, John Travolta, Angelina Jolie and Brad Pitt is Morgan Freeman. Freeman is so interested in planes that he recently made the pilgrimage to AirVenture 2007 in Oshkosh, Wisconsin to check out the planes. Freeman, who has been interested in planes since he was a teenager, had his first lesson in 2002. He now flies a Cessna 414 and a Citation 501SP. At AirVenture 2007 he took the helicopter tour and when asked said the plane he most wished he could fly is the F-86 Sabre.
