Monarch On The Merrimack

The former manufacturing town of Lawrence, Massachusetts has put a historic mill to good use. Monarch on the Merrimack repurposes Lawrence's Wood Mill into New England's largest eco-friendly residential development. Monarch has green features such as a garden lobby, private waterfront park and a roof terrace with a garden. The entire development is powered by geothermal heating and cooling. When it was built in 1906, the mill was the largest building of its kind on the planet. It is almost a third of a mile long and is now home to a whole neighborhood of modern lofts. The prices are reasonable, even the penthouses which have over 2,000 square feet of space on three levels only sell for $489,900 for a river side loft, with 800 sq. ft private roof deck. Shopping is right nearby at the Shops at Monarch, a 90,000 square foot complex that includes a movie theater and restaurants.
