Mercedes-Benz TC 65 "Black Series" by TC-Concepts
Filed under: Luxury Cars & Autos

Life is full of compromises. Take the Mercedes-Benz SL65 AMG. If you want the convertible version, you'll be driving a two-seat sportscar that weighs as much as a sport-utility vehicle. (We're not kidding.) On the other hand, if you want the top-of-the-line performance model, you'll have to do without the convertible roof, as the Black Series replaces it with a lighter-weight fixed roof, but then you'll miss out on the pleasure of open-air motoring.
At least one German tuner says they've got the solution. TC-Concepts has taken the convertible SL65 and fitted it with a series of enhancements to bring it up to Black Series specifications. The body kit, 20" wheels and custom interior make it look the part, while underneath the hood they've tweaked the twin-turbo V12 to 700 horsepower...98 more than stock, and 30 more than the actual factory Black Series. Plus you keep the folding hard top, so you can enjoy it all with the wind in your hair.
