Southern California is the land of cosmetic procedures and medical spas, and although many customers are happy to go in for their treatments there are those that want more discretion and prefer to get them at home. Destinations Medical Spa makes it possible by sending a board-certified physician in an unmarked SUV (your nosy neighbors never have to know) to your home with all the equipment and expertise needed to perform basic procedures like Botox injections, chemical peels, and laser hair removal. They offer pretty much everything a traditional medical spa does (more in some cases) and prices are comparable.

Certainly puts a new spin on the phrase "I'll just order delivery."

Ology Spa

Medical spas are gradually becoming more and more commonplace. A new hospital-based spa, Ology in Carmel, Indiana offers a hybrid of spa treatments and medical procedures such as Botox and dermal filers. The spa is privately owned by plastic surgeons and professors of the Indiana University School of Medicine and has nine treatment rooms including a relaxation/meditation room. The spa offers plenty of high tech treatments including the Visia complexion analysis which compares your skin to those of the same age and skin type and threadlifting where ‘barbed sutures’ are placed in the skin to lift saggy areas. There are also eight massage therapies including a Thai Yoga massage, treatments with Indian oils and ayurvedic facials. The spa also has its own private label cosmo-pharmaceutical line called Philantropik, the proceeds of which are donated to various health care organizations. We keep seeing more and more of this mix of Eastern and Western techniques around the country.There are two locations for Ology and according to an article in the Indianapolis Star, both medical centers and hospitals around the country have expressed interest in franchising the business model.
