Sally Field in Malibu, Estate of the Day

Actress Sally Field has played a variety of roles on television and in the movies, including most recently starring as the Walker family matriarch on "Brothers & Sisters". She is now, as the LA Times Hot Property column reports, hoping for a role as successful home seller. Her Malibu home has the same sort of casual class embodied by Field herself.

The five-bedroom home is a ranch-style home built in 1958. It is on three acres of land and has a separate guest apartment. The property also includes a pool, tennis court and a three-stall horse paddock and has direct access to riding trails on more than 2,000 acres of park land (the home is located in the hills of Malibu and is a bit away from the ocean). The home itself includes an updated kitchen, master wing and guest wing. I'm a sucker for any home with good shelf space and Ms. Field's home abounds in places to relax and read including a book-lined sunroom, a media room dominated by large couches and what appears to be a large screened-in porch.
