No matter how often I see a handbag from Lulu Guinness, I am still amazed by what she creates. Her designs often have a quirky sensibility but always packed with fun and a lightheartedness that makes you feel like a kid again. And her Lips Collection of clutches are no exception. In speaking about her inspiration for the line, Guinness says, "Red lipstick has always been my personal trademark it conveys Glamour and Femininity, my signature painted red lips are the main inspiration behind my lips clutch bags, the clutches pay homage to the Pop Art culture." Her flirty clutches are available in leather, snakeskin, and perspex and offer a less than subtle sexiness that puts fun back in dressing up. Price: $343.

Lulu Guinness remains one of my favorite handbag designers. Combining elegance and attitude, the bags are often quirky but always stylish. The Sputnik Clutch is no exception, marrying rich black satin with retro sputnik cabouchons and multi-hued embroidery. The slick black frame opens to bright yellow lining and one interior pocket. Measuring 22cm wide by 12cm high, the bag sells for £145.00.

Lulu Guinness 50's Furniture Shop Carmen, Handbag of the Day

Lulu Guinness remains one of my favorite handbag designers. Her bags are instantly recognizable for their unique and whimsical design. This one, from the Autumn/Winter 2007 collection, depicts a 1950's furniture shop scene embroidered upon black patent leather. I love the details - especially the star-burst clock hanging on the wall of the shop and the L.G. monogram on the door. I also like the shape - a large box with a full sized zip closure. It is a cute bag with a retro vibe. £195.00.

I think Lulu Guinness' designs are lovely and this vintage-inspired bag is no exception. The bag features exterior accessory pockets for your compact, coins, lipstick and comb. Although labeling the pockets is probably not necessary, I like the idea of putting them out there. The blue leather bag is lined in a neutral suede and has several slide pockets, including a cell-phone holder. Apparently I am not the only one who likes the bag - there is a currently a waiting list. £795.00.

World-renowned British designer Lulu Guinness has some beautiful bags in her Spring/Summer 2007 Couture collection. The Blue Penelope bag caught my eye with its beautiful, deep blue leather. It's a rather large bag with a soft shape and a sturdy gold clasp and frame. Inside, the bag has an Italian cream suede lining with two pockets as well as the all-important cell-phone holder. With the Lulu Guinness signature discreetly placed on the front, this bag will get noticed. Also available in black, the bag sells for £850.00, but currently has a waiting list.

Lulu Guinness Madame Butterfly Bag, Handbag of the Day

It is easy to see this lovely Madame Butterfly Bag from Lulu Guinness slung over your shoulder as you head out to a holiday party, or perhaps just off to diner on a wintry night. The bag is lined with white satin and covered in plush, black moleskin. Silver butterflies scattered over the purse are reminiscent of the night sky. The bag has a top flap closure with a large beaded tassel weighting it down and a matching coinpurse is included. Price: $348.

Lulu Guinness Too Rich Too Thin, Handbag of the Day

I don't think that this Lulu Guinness handbag is going to catch on among the fashion forward celebrity 20-somethings (not with Paris and Lindsay, anyway), but wouldn't it be nice if it did? The Too Rich Too Thin Keeley is a simple, black canvas bag with a rolled strap that can be slipped onto a shoulder. The text on the fabric, in brightly colored embroidered writing, reads "you can be to rich and too thin." True, it sounds a little bit preachy, but as long as you take it with a sense of humor and don't hit people over the head with it, no matter how tempting it might be, you are going to get compliments on more than just the bag. Price: £150.
