Hermes Garden Party Tote, Handbag of the Day

This tote caught my eye primarily for the luscious orange color. But color alone can't justify the $1395 price tag, so what else does this bag offer besides a high-end label? The answer is - not much. Made from cotton linen and trimmed in orange leather, it's a simple large tote like any other. I do like the way the top snaps in to adjust the width, but other than that and the detachable 45" shoulder strap, it is rather unremarkable. Pretty color, though!

This bag is not only good looking, but is multi-functional, giving you the equivalent of four bags in one. It's a tote, a fold-over messenger, a mini-bag or a clip-on belt bag all rolled into one stylish package. Made from black Italian leather and neutral colored linen, with just a touch of patent leather on the trim, the bag features a detachable mini-bag made from lambskin. The hardware is antiqued brass and the long shoulder strap is adjustable and detachable. Lined in cotton, the interior features zip and patch pockets. At $358, this bag is a work-horse.
