Linde Werdelin Hard Grey DLC Limited Edition Watch For America

For the first time, England based watch maker Linde Werdelin has produced a limited edition timepiece to be exclusively sold in the United States. Limited to just 11 pieces, the Hard Grey DLC will feature the same base watch as "The One," but with a gray colored DLC (diamond like carbon - very hard material) coated case. Featuring the standard Linde Werdelin case, the watch will have an almost neon yellow SuperLumiNova coated set of hour indicators and hands, a new red-colored Linde Werdelin logo on the dial.

The steel case is 44mm and very comfortable. Inside the watch is a Swiss ETA 2892 automatic movement, while the watch comes with two straps. One strap is the pictured brown alligator strap with gray contrast stitching, and Linde Werdelin also includes a black rubber strap. Look for these 11 pieces sold exclusively in the US where Linde Werdelin watches are sold. Price is $7,300.

Linde Werdelin "The Rock" Wrist Instrument For Skiing Or Trekking

Always being improved (and offered in more and more colors), Linde Werdelin's "The Rock" is a serious computer device for your wrist. It is actually made to physically go over and attach onto Linde Werdelin timepieces, but can be worn separately. I reviewed a previous generation The Rock here (aka "The Land Instrument" was it was previously called). The device is pretty cool. Linde Werdelin designed it for people who like to ski, climb, hike, or just walk around with a cool aluminum computer on their wrist. The device is like a Casio Pathfinder, but it does more, and in a slicker manner.

Improved recently is the addition of an internal temperature sensor (which used to be an external sensor). Other sensors include a compass and altimeter. The device also has a series of clever log and alert functions. It is pretty cool actually and a must have for the serious gadget lover. Oh, I think it also tells the time! Linde Werdelin "The White Watch" For Women

While this isn't exactly a brand new timepiece, it is a revision of their 3-Timer watch made for women's tastes (and wrists). Basically the first Linde Werdelin watch made specifically for women. While the 46mm wide steel case is the same as on the men's model, the strap has been made shorter, and is here in a white pointed calfskin leather. I like the white color application inside of the hex screws. Linde Werdelin has been playing with the idea of coloring in this area, and I think it works nicely.

The dial is white, with steel hands, and applied steel hour markers. Linde Werdelin uses light colored lume to match the white look of the watch. Although the watch is 46mm wide, it wears smaller. The dial itself is 42mm wide and it has a nice feeling over the wrist. I've seen this style watch on women before, and it looks just fine - especially as large watches are in. With the smaller strap, the watch should fit nicely. As the watch is a Linde Werdelin 3-Timer at heart (which I reviewed here), it is a GMT timepiece with a Swiss ETA 2893-2 automatic movement on the inside. Limited to just 51 pieces, "The White Watch" won't be easy to find. Price is 4,680 euros.

Linde Werdelin 3-Timer Racing Singapore Edition Watch

As a special piece for E'colleczione in Singapore, Linde Werdelin is making a limited edition of 18 pieces for the race loving crowd. There will be 9 pieces in red, and 9 in yellow of this 3-Timer watch variation. The caseback will also have a special "Racing" engraving. The release of the watch is meant to go together with the Grand Prix race in Singapore. I believe that this is the first time, or one of the first times that Linde Werdelin has made a limited edition watch for a racing event (or any event for that matter).

The standard 46mm wide steel 3-Timer watch has been enhanced with red or yellow in the bezel, and inside of the hex screws on the case and the strap. The perforated leather strap again has either yellow or red inside of the small holes. The dial is textured and black, and everything else you like about the 3-Timer GMT watch. Inside the watch is a Swiss 2893 automatic GMT movement. Go here for a full review of the Linde Werdelin 3-Timer watch. Price for this limited Racing edition of the 3-Timer watch will be about 5,280 euros for each of the 18 pieces, available exclusively in Singapore.

Linde Werdelin 3-Timer Watch Now In Lucky Green

Oh the lucky of the... English, Swiss, Northern European? Linde Werdelin may have no connection to the Irish, but their new 3-Timer with a rich forest green dial may still make you feel lucky. Recently brown watches became the "in hued timepieces," and maybe green is going to be next big thing. Regardless, green has always been a solid watch color for the right outfit. Though you need to choose carefully, as a grass green watch isn't going to go with your standard black or blue suit. For me, this is a good watch to wear on days when you want people to be green with envy around you.

Green is the newest dial color for the 3-Timer watch, but will still be highly limited in production to just 22 pieces. Making them almost as rare as a four-leaf clover. Linde Werdelin Oktopus Moonphase Watch Hands-On

Face time with the Linde Werdelin Oktopus Moonphase watch yields good results from the superhero dive watch with a moonphase indicator from one of the edgiest upcoming brands out there today. For detailed specs on the piece you can refer to my seminal article on the Oktopus Moonphase here. The watch is water resistant to 888 meters and is the chunkiest of the Linde Werdelin line (non moonphase Oktopus watches are water resistant to 1,111 meters). It has larger-than-life hands, and a grippy rotating diver's bezel. Unique is an interesting moonphase indicator that uses newsprint style images of the moon on a moving disc. The complication is potentially quite useful as well, given the need for divers to be aware of tides, and the moon's influence over the tides.

The watch is in titanium and rose gold - that is used for the bezel, highly polished hands, and hour indicators. Really a good looking dial that is easy to read. Gold usually mixes nicely with titanium. The watch fits well via the special alligator strap. Inside the watch is a Frederic Piguet (ETA is the parent company) high-end automatic movement that is finished and modified by the highly regarded watch maker Svend Andersen. Price for the Linde Wedelin Oktopus Moonphase is 21,700, and it will be part of a limited edition of just 29 pieces.

Linde Werdelin SpidoLite SA Rose Gold Limited Edition Watch

Sport Luxury (or is it "luxury sport") watch maker Linde Werdelin will release a new version of its SpidoLite SA watch in 18k rose gold with a black DLC (diamond like carbon) coated dial. The watch is a stunning union of luxury and the unique merits that the SpidoLite watch line provides. Plus, I feel that the high contrast between the gold hands and the black dial make for improved legibility.

The SpidoLite SA line is known for its Svend Andersen ("SA") decorated vintage automatic mechanical movement (with a special blue gold automatic rotor), as well as the special skeletonized Biformeter case. All in all a great watch, further enhanced by the look and luxury of rose gold. Price for the gold version is not actually that much more than the standard titanium version. There is also a new version of the SpidoLite watch in all black DLC coated titanium, which is very nice (that version has metallic blued hands). Prices for the all DLC coated version are 9,800 euros, while the pictures rose gold version is 15,800 euros. Each is limited to just 88 pieces. Available very soon.

Linde Werdelin SpidoLite Titanium DLC Limited Edition Watch

The cream of Linde Werdelin's new crop of watches is the limited edition of 44 SpidoLite watch in DLC (diamond like carbon) covered titanium. The dial is partially skeletonized with a view into the newly decorated vintage NOS automatic mechanical movement from the 1970s. It is a real melding of ultra modern style and classic reliability. In what seems like a dreamy relationship, Linde Werdelin is using Svend Andersen to engrave and finish the movements for the SpidoLite watch. You can be sure the decoration process will be impressive.

Retaining the ability to have a Linde Werdelin Instrument attach to the face of the watch, the SpidoLite is a new breed from the impressive luxury sports watch maker. The familiar large case sits comfortably on the one's wrist with one of the industry's best high-grade rubber straps. Other versions of the new limited edition SpidoLite watch include an all titanium version (no DLC coating) and a black DLC coated version with a yellow tint applied sapphire crystal for the ultimate "check me out" look. The SpidoLite watches will be officially unveiled at Baselworld 2009 in April. Prices are around $10,000.

The Linde Werdelin Sea Instrument

Watch company Linde Werdelin has unveiled a new design they call the Sea Instrument, the world's first luxury dive computer. The Sea Instrument can be attached on top of the Linde Werdelin Biformeter watches, for divers of all abilities.

It has a transflective color screen with the display covered by sapphire crystal glass and is designed to be readable underwater. It doesn't protect the wearer from sharks but it does guide divers by tracking the critical pieces of information needed on any dive using an advanced 3-axis compass, CPU's and alarm systems. It shows depth, dive time, vital decompression stops, temperature, maximum depth and surface interval times, constantly keeping the user in a real time picture. It comes in natural or black anodized aluminum and a limited amount have been commissioned in solid 18K yellow gold. The Sea Instrument is water resistant to 1,000 feet and is powered by a rechargeable Lithium Ion battery with 28 hours continuous diving or five days standby. The aluminum version sells for 2,100 euros and will be available later this year.
