The World's Ugliest Rolex - Yours for $46,000

Filed under: Jewelry, Timepieces / Watches

The world's ugliest Rolex, a custom leopard print diamond and sapphire Cosmograph Daytona, has turned up for sale via global online luxury marketplace JamesList for $46,000. Unsurprisingly, the hideous timepiece has never been worn, and is being offered for sale in glitzy Miami Beach. The special edition watch has an 18k yellow gold case with 36 baguette cognac sapphires, 48 diamonds on the end pieces, and a leopard print dial festooned with another eight diamonds. It comes on a leopard print leather strap with an 18k yellow gold deployable clasp. The aesthetic travesty is all the more unfortunate because the Daytona in classic stainless steel is considered by many to be Rolex's most attractive model. Designed as the ultimate timing tool for endurance races, the Daytona is made to allow the driver to map his course times accurately and determine how he must drive in order to achieve victory. Try even figuring out what time it is on this spotted nightmare.

UPDATE: An astute reader has spotted this monstrosity on the wrist of Vanessa Bryant, wife of L.A. Lakers star Kobe Bryant, at a White House ceremony. Good lord, there's more than one of them.

Pierre Hardy Leopard Saddle Bag, Handbag of the Day

I just never get tired of leopard print. I like it in my home and I love it on my bag. This slim shoulder bag from Pierre Hardy goes with just about everything and is sized just right at 17" wide by 12" tall. Black patent leather trims the strap, the flap and continues around the bottom of the bag. The very long shoulder strap makes it perfect for carrying across your body when you need to keep your hands free and the simple flap closure can be managed with one hand as well. At $1590, consider it an investment in a bag that will never go out of style.

Prada Leopard Platform Mary Janes

Someone recently told me that leopard print is "ladylike" and never goes out of fashion. While I find that first point to be debatable, leopard print has a certain timeless appeal to it and it is definitely in style for this season. Prada's Leopard Platform Mary Janes are perhaps the ultimate application of leopard, mixing the conservative style of a classic Mary Jane shoe with a wild and slightly naughty animal-print calfskin. Of course, there is nothing conservative about these shoes, since they are stacked on a 4" heel. The shoes also feature gold leather trim and a golden buckle. Price: $695.
