New Kiehl's Dry Skin Cream Powered By Hardy "Resurrection Flower"

Can a tough little plant that blooms in harsh and arid conditions impart its wondrous properties to your skin? Kiehl's has announced a new skin cream that uses Rosa Artica (Haberlea rhodopensis) also called the "resurrection flower" to moisturize aging skin. The new Rosa Artica anti-aging cream was created to "wake up" skin cells triggering a chain reaction that will lead to visibly healthier, regenerated and more youthful skin. Results include the reduction of the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles and improvement of overall skin firmness.

Haberlea rhodopensis is indigenous to the rugged Rhodopes Mountain Range in Bulgaria and it can dry out completely and survive periods of dryness for up to 31 months. With only a few drops of moisture, the plant resumes normal growth within hours and is restored in one to two days. This amazing feat is due to its ability to protect water content within the cell, allowing the capacity to restart the cellular energy process. Our friends at Racked recently tried the product and fell in love.

The cream also contains Vitamin E, cocoa butter, shea butter and essential fatty acids and sells for $60 for 1.7 fl. Oz. and is available March 2011 in select stores.

Jeff Koons Designs Bottles For Kiehls

A Jeff Koons sculpture recently sold for over $16 million but you can get your hands on Koons for a lot less. The pop artist has partnered with Kiehls for a limited edition collection, available at Kiehls.com. The Limited Edition Creme de Corps Holiday Collection features Koons' colorful Tulips artwork. All of Kiehls worldwide net profits from the product (up to $200,000) will benefit The Koons Family Institute, an initiative of the International Centre for Missing and Exploited Children (ICMEC).

The collection includes the Jeff Koons Limited Edition Creme de Corps in sizes from 8.4 fluid ounces to one liter (priced from $27 to $70). The collection also introduces the new Creme de Corps Soy Milk & Honey Whipped Body Butter, $35 for an eight-ounce jar.

Brad Pitt Cleans Up With Kiehl's

It's not quite Brad Pitt body wash but the architecture-loving dad has teamed up with Kiehl's on their new new Aloe Vera Biodegradable Liquid Body Cleanser. The product is the popular skincare brand's first item that is completely eco-friendly right down to the packaging and is certified by Cradle to Cradle. Pitt won't be appearing on the bottle or in the advertising but he did pen a hand-written note that will be on the bottle. All the profits benefit JPF Eco Systems, a charitable foundation created by Kiehl's and Brad to support global environmental initiatives. The project hopes to raise $1 million for charity with the first funds raised earmarked for Pitt's Make It Right foundation, which builds eco-friendly housing for those affected by Hurricane Katrina.

Smoothed Over with Kiehl's

If anything you're like me, in the back of your bathroom closet, you keep a graveyard worth of half-used styling products handy for off-chance that you might, one day, use them all again. Pomades, mousses, sprays, gels, waxes -- if it goes in your mop, you can find it in my closet. But for all of my serial product usage, I find that at the end of the day, I always come back to my beloved stand-by: Kiehl's Creme with Silk Groom.

I don't exactly know what "Silk Groom" is, but I do know what it does: namely, it flattens out fly-aways and makes your hair look salon-shiny. Kiehl's Creme with Silk Groom moisturizes, protects, and conditions hair with a formulation of Silk Powders and naturally-absorbed oils, which come from Wheat Protein, Soy Protein, and Jojoba Oil.

To be honest, what I love most about this Kiehl's Creme with Silk Groom is the fresh rosemary smell. As it turns out that in addition to being a miserable pack-rat, I also enjoy smelling like focaccia. Price: $17.50.
