Celebrity Real Estate Round-Up, 2010-- Who's Still On The Market?

The good news is that celebrity homes seem to sell more easily than your average luxury real estate. The bad news is that there a lot of celebrity homes still seeking a new buyer. I dug through my 2010 archives, month by month, to assess the damage and see who is still trying to sell.

Some celebrities including Mel Gibson, have tried a price cut of over a million. Others including Uma Thurman, Ricky Martin and Richard Chamberlain have held their ground and their properties have sat on the market for over six months. Sheryl Crow tried to take the auction route but failed to sell her Tennessee farm.

But of course the biggest celebrity real estate tail of woe for 2010 has to be Nicolas Cage. He managed to sell off his New York apartment and his Las Vegas house but saw two New Orleans homes and his Bel Air mansion fall to foreclosure. His Rhode Island home, shown above, is still on the market for $7.75 million, a far cry from the $15.7 million he paid for it.

Dixon Recyclable Golf Balls Attract Celebrity Attention

Dixon Golf, an Arizona golf ball maker has designed balls that are eco-friendly. The company is selling the Fire golf ball which will retail for $74.95 per dozen. Previously released lines, the Earth and Wind series of balls retail for $39.95 and $29.95 per dozen. The Fire golf ball is designed for professional players or those with low handicaps and will be sold at PGA Tour Superstores. The ball features Dixon's Elastodynamic recyclable cover. The balls are totally recyclable and made from processable materials. Even the packaging is made from 100% recycled material. The Dixon Golf official grand opening of a new facility in Tempe was attended by "Hercules" actor Kevin Sorbo.

The brand has already attracted a high-profile celebrity endorsement from actor Don Cheadle. On the Dixon Golf website a quote from Cheadle proclaims that he is a "a single digit handicapper and feel that the Dixon Earth ball fits my game as well as any ball out there. It is refreshing to be associated with a company that shares my love of golf and the environment."
Dixon Golf has created the world's first high-performance eco-friendly golf balls. Unlike some Golf Ball Brands that use harsh heavy-metal pollutants like tungsten, cobalt, lead or contain non-renewable synthetic materials and compounds; all balls manufactured by Dixon Golf are "green" to the core. Kevin Sorbo Would Like To Sell You A House Or Two

Last week Newsday reported that actor Kevin Sorbo had sold one of his Hamptons homes. The actor best known for playing Hercules has two more homes up for sale in Bridgehampton, New York. Sorbo has been at work in the Hamptons for years, buying homes and properties and selling them for a profit. The two remaining homes up for sale include a 12,000 square foot eight bedroom house on six acres. The estate is designed for summer fun with a tennis court, pool house and a finished lower level with a spa, sauna, massage room, extensive gym, extra bedrooms and bath and built-in humidor. The home has a large master suite with a private deck. It is listed at $7.995 million.

The other home a smaller seven-bedroom is a little less than 8,000 square feet but is located a block away from the ocean. The home has a master suite with a sitting room, gourmet kitchen and a movie theater. Outside there is a heated gunite pool. This one is listed at $9.5 million.

Both of the homes for sale are decorated in classic Hamptons style, a sort of studied beachy casual. All three homes are listed with the Breitenbachs of The Corcoran Group.
