Karolina Zmarlak - Fluid Foundations

Polish, FIT-educated designer Karolina Zmarlak has designed her very first ready to wear collection: Fluid Foundations.
Fluid Foundations incorporates the fluidity of flowing fabrics and slimming "foundations" like pants and skirts made with nylon, spandex, and lycra -- to be worn on their own or under the beautiful dresses and other garments in the collection.
Zmarlak has worked with Carolina Herrera and Theory, and until now has been designing exclusively for private clients. Her specialty at FIT was in tailoring, and she pays very close attention to how a piece fits. To make her ready to wear collection fit as well as her privately commissioned items, she has incorporated grosgrain ties and snaps into her designs. The ties and snaps enable a woman to create her own perfect waist, bust, or hemline, and also essentially turns each garment into at least three.
As you can see above and in the gallery, Karolina Zmarlak's smart designs are incredibly "convertible" and customizable, and while they are certainly not cheap, they are made from strong synthetic materials that will last for years -- and like we said, each garment is really more like three.
The innovation and creativity behind this collection make Zmarlak a designer to watch!
