Custom Tramontana Supercar "Art" for Sale at $2.9 Million

A unique customized Spanish Tramontana supercar (above) hand-painted by renowned artist Fernando Leal-Audirac is for sale in Milan via global online luxury marketplace JamesList for €2 million, or about $2.95 million. The twin-turbo Tramontana R, unveiled over at our sister site Autoblog earlier this year, has a V12 engine capable of 760 hp and a 0 -100 kph time of 3.6 seconds. Leal-Audirac used special metallic paints enriched with gold and the powder of precious gems - hence the pricetag - to paint the carbon fiber-bodied exotic auto, designed in homage to the famed Hispano-Suiza marque. The iridescent colors react to movement and light changing them from purple to cobalt blue, and from green to gold. The car is "the synthesis of the artist's poetic vision in which art, tradition, technique, design and technology coexist through a constant research, incarnating the charm, the myth and the dynamics of contemporaneity," the artists notes.

Lamborghini Reventon Roadster for Sale at $2 Million

The Lamborghini Reventon Roadster, a convertible version of the famed Italian marque's most coveted creation, has seen its price increase just a few weeks after it was unveiled at the Frankfurt Auto Show. Lamborghini announced that fewer than 20 and perhaps as little as 10 examples of the topless supercar (see video above) would be built, priced at €1.1 million or about $1.5 million. As with the original Reventon, however, it is thought that the limited edition Roadsters were quickly snapped up, and at least one early purchaser is already looking to turn a profit: a Reventon Roadster has now been listed for sale in Berlin via global online luxury marketplace JamesList for €1.45 million or $2.1 million. The car's 6.5 liter V12 engine pumps out 670 hp and can do 0 - 100 kph (62 mph) in just 3.4 seconds with a top speed of 205 mph.

Maltese Falcon Superyacht Gets a $40 Million Price Cut

Back in May The Classicist reported that the amazing 289-ft. Maltese Falcon, the world's largest, best designed, and most expensive sailing yacht, was for sale via global online luxury marketplace JamesList at €99 million or about $138 million. Now the price has been lowered to €70 million, a drop of about $40 million for a new price of about $99 million. Built by Perini Navi for venture capitalist Tom Perkins in 2006, it remains the ne plus ultra of sailing superyachts, a masterpiece of technology and design, and was recently featured on the cover of Luxury Toys: Top of the World. Her revolutionary sailing system - the DynaRig - set a new milestone in yachting history: three self-standing and rotating masts hosting 15 sails for a total sail area of 25,791 square feet for unrivaled, performance maneuverability and record-shattering speed; she can complete Atlantic crossings in ten days.

Ultra-Rare Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR 722 GT for Sale at $2 Million

An ultra-rare Mercedes-Benz McLaren SLR 722 GT racecar, one of only 21 that will be built for customers worldwide, is being offered for sale in Germany via global online luxury marketplace JamesList for about $2 million. Developed by British motor racing specialists RML Group (Ray Mallock Ltd) the "puristic super-sportscar" is not street legal, but was designed for the SLR. CLUB Trophy, a competition series forming part of the SLR. CLUB racetrack programme in Europe. The "722" refers to the victory by Stirling Moss in a Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR with the starting number 722 at the Mille Miglia in 1955.

The car has been stripped down bare essentials controlled from a carbon fiber binnacle. New carbon fiber door panels and full roll cage complete the transformation and result in a lower weight allowing the 671 hp AMG engine to go from 0-62 mph in only 3.3 seconds. New body components such as a front apron with front splitter, wide wings, prominent side skirts, large rear diffuser and fixed rear spoiler improve aerodynamics and enhance racetrack performance. Check out a video of Jeremy Clarkson testing out this amazing supercar after the jump.

The $500,000 Bulletproof Bentley

Sure, you could get yourself an off-the-rack Bentley Continental Flying Spur, but what happens when the s--t goes down? Better perhaps to be prepared with an armored version that can stop an AK-47 dead in its tracks. For about $500,000 you can pick one up in Germany via global online luxury marketplace JamesList. Featuring military-grade B6-level protection, the upgrade makes this super-luxe sedan war zone-ready. With no virtually alteration to the outside appearance and adjustments to handle the extra weight without sacrificing the 552-hp engine's performance, the changes are subtle but effective: ballistic steel in the doors, pillars, overlaps and sides of the vehicle, bulletproof glass, run flat tires, an explosion-proof gas tank, kevlar flooring, and more. Other security options include a self-contained oxygen supply system in case of a poison gas attack and exploding hinge bolts that blast open the doors should a speedy exit become imperative.

The craft's aft deck covers a garage that contains tenders and toys and opens hydraulically at the push of a button.

Another Pur Sang Offered Up in the Great Veyron Sell-Off

Earlier this year we reported on two ultra-exclusive $3 million Bugatti Veyron Pur Sangs, the world's most expensive production vehicle of which only five were built, being put up for sale. The first of the special edition cars with exposed carbon fiber and aluminum bodywork, which sold out within 24 hours of their original announcement, was offered up in Abu Dhabi. The next one surfaced a couple of weeks later in Frankfurt, Germany where the car was originally unveiled at the Frankfurt Motor Show. Now a third Pur Sang has been listed for sale via global online luxury marketplace JamesList in Munich.

With the other two Pur Sangs already on the block as previously noted, only two of the cars seemingly remain in private hands. Also back in April we noted that 18 Veyrons were on offer via JamesList; that number has now swelled to 23, or nearly one-fifth of all Veyrons built to date. The cheapest is a 2005 model with 29,000 miles on it offered at €789,000 or about $1.09 million. Obviously the pitiful economy means many people are having to try and unload these agonizingly expensive automotive status symbols.

Man of Steel Superyacht for Sale at $50 Million

The 164-ft. Heesen superyacht Man of Steel (above) is for sale via global online luxury marketplace JamesList for $50 million. Built in 2008, the tri-deck ship with helipad takes its name from the use of hot rolled steel threaded seamlessly and worked in elegantly throughout the yacht. The main stairway floats off of the wall, supported on a steel column, while the stairs themselves are created out of steel with carpet inserts. Steel is also a notable element in the reveals of the maccasar ebony cabinetry. That and the floating glass floor over a bed of black river rock encountered upon entering the yacht mark it as one-of-a-kind among ultra-luxury cruisers.

The full-sized glass owner's suite has 240-degree views and a bed that rotates to take them all in. The owner's balcony contains a private negative edge spa and its own sundeck. The lower level and "pop-culture" themed family room are Moroccan-inspired with bright colors and a specially-commissioned Bisazza tile mural. Key elements of the modern Art Deco-inspired salon space include maccasar ebony, period-correct sterling silver, crystal, and a platinum color scheme. Asian and Zen influences can be seen in the custom platforms for the furniture, the square proportions of the cushions, and the glass encased black river rock floor.

Brother, Can You Spare a Bugatti?

Call it a sign of the times: no less than 18 ultra-exclusive Bugatti Veyrons are currently for sale via online global luxury marketplace JamesList. Obviously what seemed like a good investment for some during the economic boom is proving either an expensive liability these days or a way to raise some much-needed cash. The sheer number of the supercars being offered up is even more astounding taking into account the fact that as of last March, although over 200 Veyrons had been sold, only 132 had actually been built. The Veyrons on offer via JamesList range from a relative bargain of a 2005 model in Germany at about $1 million all the way up to $2.6 million for the first model in the 2006 production run. Of course, no two Veyrons are exactly alike.

Built entirely of carbon fiber, the SIG45 was designed by the architects of the world's fastest offshore sailing yachts. Unlike a pure racing craft however, the yacht features stunning lines and a minimalist yet luxurious interior created by superyacht designer Bjorn Johansson. High quality fabrics and fittings were used throughout the three double cabins, two fully equipped heads, galley, saloon and separate navigation station.
