Miranda Kerr Lists New York City Apartment

Now that she's married and expecting Victoria's Secret model Miranda Kerr is leaving her single-girl residence behind. The Wall Street Journal reports that Kerr has put her one-bedroom condo in the Jade Building in New York's Flatiron District on the market for $1.395 million (listed with Jaf Glazer of Conquest Advisors). Kerr married actor Orlando Bloom earlier this year and the pair are living in Los Angeles (in a four-bedroom home he bought in 2007 for $2.75 million). The Jade apartment is a corner unit on the tenth floor. It has floor-to-ceiling windows and two Juliet balconies.

The Jade is named for Jade Jagger, who helped design the project. Kerr's loft-style 904-square-foot condo has a pod-like free-standing cube in the center of the apartment that holds a small kitchen area and the bathroom. The cube has an oversized shower with a glass wall facing the middle of the 26-foot-wide living room. The WSJ reports that Kerr signed a contract to purchase the apartment for just under $1.1 million in 2006. Amenities for the building include two floors of shared terraced space with a reflecting pool and soaking tubs, a fitness room and a Moroccan-themed lounge.

The Classicist: Gypsy + Jet Set = Gypset

Filed under: Apparel, Decor, Art, Books, The Classicist, Wealth

Julia Chaplin, a chic, talented New York–based writer and editor who covers contemporary art, fashion, design, lifestyle, and travel, has identified a new substrata of international society: the Gypset. In her new book Gypset Style, due out soon from Assouline and available for pre-order on Amazon, she presents a super-stylish Baedeker to those who "fuse the wild and unconventional ethos of a gypsy with the sophistication and speed of the jet set."

Most of them are exceptionally good-looking and have money, of course, but even those with obscene amounts of the stuff are anything but ostentatious. Most are also relatively unknown, but numbered among their ranks are the likes of designer and "daughter of Mick" Jade Jagger, British fashion designer Alice Temperley, and even bad boy Brit artist Damien Hirst and his partner, Californian surfer / designer Maia Norman, who make it by virtue of their houseboat moored on the Thames in London.

Chaplin coined the term "Gypset" to refer to "an international community of artists, designers, surfers, and bon vivants who live and work around the globe." The 21st century's Bright Young Things, if you will. Gypset Style explores the "unconventional lives of these high-low cultural nomads and the bohemian enclaves they inhabit, as well as their counterculture forebears, including the Victorian explorers, the Lost Generation, beatniks, and hippies."

Jade Jagger in London, Estate of the Day

Rock star daughter, jeweler, real estate developer and fashionista Jade Jagger has put her London home on the market. The Real Estalker reports that the home is located in the Queen's Park area of London. The three-bedroom brick home is fairly small at 1,989 square feet but Jagger has filled it with some interesting designer furnishings that make it look more like a party pad than the abode of a mother and two teenage girls. But perhaps what is most interesting design choices, aside from the rather glossy ceilings, is the style of the two bathrooms. One, the master bath, includes what seems to be a stripper pole next to which someone has placed a pair of red stilettos. The other bathroom looks like a disco ball threw up. This home is listed at £1.5 million.

Mick Jagger's Latest Model Daughter

Looks like wrinkly Rolling Stone Mick Jagger has sired yet another gorgeous girl: Georgia May Jagger, 16, his daughter by Texan stunner Jerry Hall. Following in the fashionable footsteps of the rocker's other daughters, Jade and Elizabeth, Georgia May just made her modeling debut in the UK for the London Mail on Sunday's magazine, and has signed with the Independent Talent agency. To our eyes, Georgia May has a major modeling career ahead of her. Having Mick Jagger and Jerry Hall for parents won't hurt either, obviously. And we bet we haven't seen the last of her dad's stunning offspring; after all, he has sired seven children with four different women (that we know of).

Tableside Ice Picking With the Jagger Dagger

Belvedere vodka has been doing a lot of promotion lately to build their brand. The latest is the Jagger Dagger, a sword designed by Jade Jagger, Mick's daughter and creative director at Garrard. The sword has an 18K white gold studded hilt with 12 carats of brilliant-cut diamonds, 42 pale sapphires, and a central blue lapis lazuli square. The blade is created from mirror-polished carbon steel with an engraving of the same tree branches that decorate the Belvedere bottle. The "Jagger Dagger" will be part of an tableside ice-picking service with the sword provided by servers at certain nightclubs such as 1OAK in New York, Crystal in London, and VIP in Paris. Each dagger has a retail value exceeding $250,000. A range of daggers in the same style but with white topaz in lieu of diamonds and aquamarine instead of sapphires will sell for $10,000 at certain retailers.
