Jock Whitney's Elegante Yacht Up For Auction

The yacht shown above is the 63-foot, wood-hulled motoryacht Elegante. The one-of-a-kind yacht was built for was John Hay "Jock" Whitney, a multimillionaire sportsman and the founder of J.H. Whitney & Co., the oldest venture capital investment company in the United States back in 1964. The yacht will be at the Fort Lauderdale International Boat Show this week and is up for auction on October 30 at B-dock at the Bahia Mar Yachting Center. The yacht is powered by twin Detroit 60 series turbocharged engines and can hit a top speed of 24 knots. It sleeps four and can host up to 25 for day cruises.
