Lamborghini "Lamborbiker" Motorcycle Concept

Last fall we wrote about a brilliant Ferrari V4 motorcycle concept based on the Enzo. Now designer Flavio Adriani has come up with a wicked Lamborghini superbikebike concept. The Lamborbiker (above) was inspired by famed Italian automotive architect Marcello Gandini, formerly chief designer for Bertone and creator of several stunning Lamborghinis including the Countach, and employs the Osmos, a revolutionary hubless orbital wheel. Like the V4, the Lamborbiker is pretty fantastical but aesthetically captivating.

Riva Yachts Launches Home Couture Collection

Riva Yachts, the iconic Italian motorboat maker that epitomizes Dolce Vita style, has just launched a chic new Home Couture Collection of furnishings and design accents for outfitting a luxury yacht or owner's villa. Pure and precious materials such as cashmere, silk, saddle leather, linen, silver and brass are the main elements of the luxe new line, available by special order only. The collection includes a pure cashmere blanket with stitching designed to look like the wake of a classic Riva motorboat; a leather beach bag with an inner lining in linen printed with archival Riva images from the golden era of the Italian Riviera, when Sophia Loren and Brigitte Bardot owned Rivas; and woven cashmere cushions with mother of pearl buttons and metal Riva logos (above).

Panerai Debuts New Ferrari Watches at UK Motor Show

Luxury Italian watchmaker Panerai is debuting four new models in its Ferrari branded collection in London at the British International Motor Show (BIMS) this week. Panerai began producing the collection for Ferrari in 2006; the entire range is on display to the public for the first time at the show, which began Wednesday and runs through Aug. 3rd.

The four new models are: the Ferrari 10 Days GMT, approx. $18,000, from the Scuderia Collection; the Ferrari 8 Days Chrono Monopulsante GMT Classic, approx. $21,000, from the Granturismo collection; the Ferrari 1/8th Second, approx. $21,000, a Special Edition; and the Ferrari Chronograph, approx. $57,000, a Special Edition. The entire collection now comprises 19 models.

Gianfranco Ferre to Debut "Couture Architecture" in Dubai

Italian design house Gianfranco Ferre has signed multi-billion dollar deal to develop real estate projects with a fashionable flair. Ferre is partnering with Mideast-based GIO Developments on the deal, and the first project, called "Gianfranco Ferre Stresa," will be a mixed-use highrise in Dubai. The $1.2 billion tower will combine residential, commercial and hospitality spaces, and the partnership has dubbed it the first example of "concrete couture." Other similar projects are planned around the globe. Mr. Ferre himself, who was fittingly known as the "architect of fashion," died last year. The company bearing his name already has a strong presence in the region with existing stores in Dubai, Beirut and Istanbul and new openings planned for Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia and Kuwait within the year. Other design houses currently collaborating on Dubai developments include Versace, Christian Lacroix and Elie Saab.

Versace Ltd. Edition Lamborghini to be Available in Fall

The limited-edition Lamborghini by Versace which we first wrote about plans for in 2006 is finally going into production for fall. The car, which will be a convertible in contrast to the coupe originally developed, will be a bright pastel white with a black-and-white leather interior. The price of the special-order Murciélago LP 640 Roadster Versace has yet to be named, but expect to pay a healthy premium above the model's already hefty base price of $358,000. The V12 roadster, designed by Donatella Versace and just unveiled in Milan during Men's Fashion Week, will feature a see-through engine bay cover and the fashion house's signature Greek key motif on the doors, front fascia and nappa leather seats. Versace has also designed an accompanying line of black calfskin accessories including luggage, wallet, gloves, driving shoes, hat and even a pair of leather jeans all bearing an engraved metal Lamborghini Versace tag.

Nobody's Perfect Double Bed

At first glance, this bed appears to be a cushioned platform in front a headboard consisting of two colorful, if oddly shaped, windows. But look closely and you will see what I missed at first - the headboard is meant to represent a couple kissing. Now, that is a romantic bed. Designed by Italian architect and artist Gaetano Pesce, the European double bed is made from resin panels, joined together with nylon pins. If you are sleeping alone, consider the single version. $12,000 for the double.

Ercolina Chaise

The Ercolina is a chaise that doubles as a nifty piece of sculpture. It was designed by Paolo Grasselli and provides an elegant place to recline. When you are done you simply flip up the chaise and it goes vertical making it a great space saver. The chaise has a steel frame and polyurethane upholstery with pivot weight. It has a removable leather cover that comes in cream, red, black, lime green and orange. It sells for $1,386.

Meridiani Collection's Thurman Bed

Oh, looking at this bed makes me want to take a nap. What better place than curled up in Meridiani Collections number called, Thurman. I found the name interesting and it seems that Meridiani wants you to think you're sleeping with some celebrity style. Other names in the collection are Bogart, Bergman, Bardot, and even Yoko. Certainly, this bed does its namesake justice. It's drop dead gorgeous with clean lines and would make anybody who sleeps in it 100% better looking. It comes in California king and standard king sizes, complete with under-bed storage. The design is pure Italian genius and is available through select designers. I'm still trying to find one close to me, I can't resist it.

Al Dente Showerhead

Did you ever see the episode of "Seinfeld" when Kramer gets a garbage disposal installed in his shower? He could have really used this showerhead. The Al Dente from Italian firm Agape Design take its design cue from a kitchen colander. The polypropylene showerhead rests inside a stainless steel perforated bowl. There is also a matching soap dish.
