Kristen Bell Designs Necklace For Charity

Actress Kristen Bell has partnered with Satya Jewelry on a piece of jewelry for a good cause. The necklace is made of hand cast sterling silver with 24kt gold vermeil matte finish in the shape of a tree of life. The pendant is paired with a green peridot stone. The Satya Foundation donates 100% of the net proceeds from this necklace to Invisible Children's programs in the war-devastated region of northern Uganda. The necklace sells for $38.
On Crowdrise, Bell tells of her experience in visiting Uganda with Invisible Children to meet the children there. Part of the Invisible Children mission is to prevent rebel forces from abducting children and creating child soldiers (over 30,000 children have been abducted in Uganda since 1986). Invisible Children also works on building new schools to give children an education. A video on the work of Invisible Children is after the jump.
