Wax Celebrities Up For Auction
The Hollywood Wax Museum, a rather unique landmark in Hollywood, California is selling off some of its wax figures. If you've ever though that what your home might be missing is a lifesize Marilyn Monroe, Charlie Chaplin or Bill Cosby, now you augment your decor with these figures and many more. The Hollywood Wax Museum will sell off close to 200 wax figures of celebrities and characters from movies on May 1 in an auction through Profiles in History. Some of the figures from 1970s and 1980s seem a bit dated now such as the zombie Michael Jackson from Thriller or Telly Savalas as Kojak but there are many iconic figures up for sale including even a few presidents (here's your chance to own a wax Nixon). Estimates for the figures are generally under $10,000. A portion of the proceeds will be used support efforts to preserve Hollywood's historic Walk of Fame. I just want to know what happens to the ones that don't sell, I'm picturing a dumpster full of discarded figures.
