The vast majority of designer handbags are made of leather, but the Gryson Jasper Bag dares to be different by going with a more relaxed material: nylon. It's a cute barrel shaped casual tote with leather accents, 2 shoulder straps with an adjustable drop (6"-12"), 2 rolled leather handles, brushed silver metal hardware, and leather bands that snap or unsnap across the bottom to increase or decrease the bag's capacity. It also has a suede lining which, in my opinion, makes any bag feel like a million bucks. $855.

Gryson Skye Bag, Handbag of the Day

The last thing you want to do when the snow is flying is to break out your nice leather handbag. Snowbound fashionistas need something moisture-resistant and stylish, and this bag fits the bill. Made from Italian nylon (who knew there was such a thing?), the Skye bag sports good looks and durability. Trimmed in leather with tonal topstitching, the bag features brushed silver metal hardware and a long, flat shoulder strap as well as a shorter, rolled leather handle. Since we aren't worried about weather on the inside of the bag, the suede lining provides our leather fix. Measuring 14" x 9" x 5½", the nylon Skye bag is available in five colors and sells for $595.

I love the look of this Gryson Olivia Handbag because it seems to convey a sense of purpose and functionality, but not at the expense of style. It is made from soft, black calfskin and has two braided top handles, as well as a longer buckled shoulder strap to give you some versatility when carrying it. The zip-top opening reveals a suede lining and pockets both inside and out. It is only 17" x 13", so it is a convenient size for using as a carry-on bag when traveling or simply taking out to a casual lunch with friends. And as the leather wears in and begins to supple even more, it just might become the kind of bag that you never want to leave your side. Price: $855.

Gryson Skye Medium Bag, Handbag of the Day

Could the Gryson Skye be the next "it" bag? Designer Joy Gryson's resume reads like she could very well be the one to design the next must-have carry-all, but the Sky bag is probably not it. The bag is lovely, available in white, chocolate (pictured) and black leather, all with a contrast trim. It has woven top handles and a buckle shoulder strap, so it is quite versatile in addition to being easy to carry. It features a suede lining and gold-finish brass hardware, including the zippers on the front and top. Unfortunately, the bag just isn't quite exclusive enough to make it to the "it" bag status. On the plus side, this means that at least any interested shoppers will be able to get one without getting on a four month waiting list. Price: $695.
