As beautiful and elegant as they are, few pieces of furniture could be more traditional - which is sometimes a nice way of saying "dated" - than the grandfather clock. Their size almost obligates them to become one of the focal points of a room, so if your tastes run towards a clean and contemporary aesthetic, chances are good that you'll have to pass on a full grandfather clock.
