Gibbs Aquada Amphibious Vehicle Headed to the U.S.
Filed under: Gadgets, Yachts & Sailing, Luxury Cars & Autos

How fun would it be to go out for a drive on a hot summer afternoon and, on a whim, shoot right out onto the lake? No troublesome boat or trailer to deal with, just press a button in the car and head out into the waves. The Gibbs Aquada is a land-sea hybrid that's actually been around for awhile (3 years) but the real news here is that it's headed to the States in the not-too-distant future. Capable of going up to 100 mph on land and 30 mph on water, it's the ultimate weekend toy for the rich and spoiled, and is expected to be available in the U.S. for just under $100,000 in the first half of 2009.
