Jarhead Red, The Wine For Marines
Jarhead Red is a new
wine created by two former Marines and sold by
Firestone Vineyard. The vintage is a 2001 Cabernet Sauvignon and net proceeds from the sale of the wine benefit the
Marine Corps Scholarship Foundation. Adam Firestone, the winegrower, and the vineyard foreman Ruben Dominguez are both
Marines. The wine began as a celebratory bottling for the annual USMC Scholarship Foundation Birthday Ball in Los
Angeles in 1999. The wine was finally released for distribution and sale last year. The wine sells for $12.99 from the Firestone Vineyard website. [via Marine Corps Times]
